Samal Island or the Island Garden City of Samal in Davao del Norte, Mindanao is known as the largest resort city in the Philippines since it's home to more than 30 resorts with over 1,000 rooms.Samal is considered the country's largest resort city or island, with its powdery beaches and numerous beach resorts. It also has numerous marine reefs and tranquil waters that lure the tourists, especially to Talikud Island.Samal Island was settled by indigenous people coming from the northern and eastern coasts of the undivided Davao Province. A large mixed population of Mansakas, Mandayas and Muslims composed the identification of the now so called Sama Tribe.
