"Aether becomes Lumine's bodyguard" thing got to me, canon actually. In the very first cutscene, the twins are shown as stars (Lumine - the little one, Aether - the bigger one), as confirmed by the voiceovers in the other languages. Aether probably taught Lumine how to fight, otherwise she wouldn't have nearly as much movement as her brother. Lumine is the attacker, Aether the defender, he doesn't put his sister in danger even when they fight together. In "Wings of Descension" it is confirmed that the twins are over a thousand years old, it would be odd for them to bond with someone in a new world after centuries, when they have probably seen dozens of their friends grow old and die.
