What in the world could the value in $$ be in this restoration job?? Having worked on these cars decades ago, there is a staggering amount of materials and labor required to accomplish the task shown in this video producing this absolutely magnificent result. Just the facilities to perform this level of work must be tantamount to a factory. Those who are doing such work shown here display a most admirable, "old-school" pride, and craftsmanship. An excellent example of an automobile built during the era of “ forever” cars at Mercedes’ Benz. It was designed so it could be taken apart and put back together. It was meant to last the lifetime of the owner and then get passed on to the next owner. I just watched a video on the new Benzes and I wonder how many of them will be worth restoring 50 years from now.
I remember these as a kid and they still look great as does this rebuild , my only negative was the speed up electric car sales in the UK advert that tried to run , stuff electric when you have a classic car !
I have a 1975 four door, D, looking for a way to put it back on the road for inexpensive way, engine is blown up, it’s in the trunk, and I don’t have keys, this is a nice vlog, thanks BigAl California, praise Jesus grace Christ amen 🙏.

The times back in the 70's when I could have bought one of these and a 300 se coupe for just £250 at auction cos nobody wanted them , and now, wowee ! but my conscience wont allow me to buy a German car and now I have a last of the line Jaguar XJ12 series 3 and a magnificent Humber Imperial , two great good looking cars but they dont look as good as the Merc .
The factory built one of one Pulman 600 6.3 Coupe for a retirement gift. Ultra rare car . Alex Dearborn sold it many many years ago from his Topsfield Massachusetts office.
