Thank you. This is exactly what I was looking for. Only a comparison video against a different type of speaker can highlight what the p3esr type speaker can do and what it cannot.
Love my P3ESR XDs they are a speaker I will keep till the end of my time. They are in my second system and I’m often stopped in awe of the beauty they exhibit. There is something so human about them.
I have just finished a long session with my superb Celestion SL6 speakers owned from new......I don't know whether I could stand either of these speakers for a long listen. That might be just the recording but they both sounded very aggressive to me
I like the sound of the 7 ES 2. the Harbeth P3ESR I cannot understand. what is the point of having a speaker like that when for 2k euros you can buy Elac Vela 403 which has a much better bass performance ?
I have compared C7ES2 and P3ESR many times. The C7 can handle any kind of music very well, produce better dymanics and presence with lower colouration.. The P3 is very pleasant and easy on the ears but cannot play loud and not suitable for rock music.
@vinylrulesok8470 Of course, that goes without saying. The C7ES3 and P3ESR were auditioned in 2 different dedicated rooms. I love my (underrated) Harbeth LS5/12a best.
P3ESR has the edge with voices in my opinion. The 7 ES2 has a little more dynamics with instruments, and would probably hold up better with large orchestral works. I guess it would depend on your taste in music, and the volume levels you listen to.
Upper mids on the p3esr are very very good a little forward but Yamaha amp also while the vocals sound more realistic than 7s the 7s i can hear deeper into the music and more sparkle up top -
You prolly dont give a shit but does someone know of a method to log back into an instagram account?? I somehow lost my login password. I appreciate any help you can give me
@Marcus Dylan thanks so much for your reply. I found the site through google and im trying it out now. Seems to take quite some time so I will get back to you later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
C7 understandably has the better scale and presence, but P3 isn’t far behind. I found the P3 easier on the ears. The C7 sounds more intense but also a bit boxy (wonder why!). C7 demands attention while P3 can be enjoyed in the background as well. When it comes to rocking, C7 does much better, understandably so.
@BruceCross the C7s need light hollow-section metal open frame stands with 4 small plastic caps attached at the top of each corner of each stand. These stands provide amazing results for the C7ES2.
@BruceCross I think Asia Sound in Malaysia, (current distributer of Harbeth) sells them. Do not know if they are the same, but it is the same contractor who built these stands, which was designed by the former distributor. These are the stands I described to you earlier.
Prefer the clarity of the midrange of the P3...with my Sonneteer Alabaster amp....listen to stuff like Sparklehorse , Grandaddy & Willy Tea Taylor etc so guess I'm in the mellow/rock category.
Wow... That's interesting. Looking forward to your observations. I am almost done with burning in of a pair of Burchard s400. Will do a head to head soon!!
@@dante_517 the spendors went back, I just couldn’t get on with them. I really tried but in my room and set up I couldn’t get them to sing. They were very fatiguing to my ears.
When listening through TH-cam, the smaller speaker has a more accurate and drier bass performance and the high tones stand out better and the listener is closer to the singer! I like the performance of a larger speaker through TH-cam more, because the bass sounds are more spacious and natural and have more breathing space, and the singer does not stand next to the listener! Of course, it depends on the size of the room where the speakers are located, but I would prefer these larger versions for the apartment!
@@sleme1972 Try recording out of doors to get rid of the room racket; distant miked reverberant room recordings are pretty much a mess sonically. Thank you regardless. What a wonderful veneer on the Harbeth - artisan built items which seem to be disappearing Cheers! - Sandy

Thanks.

P3ESR is better considering its size and cost! It has a magic that the bulkiest lacks!
Congratulations!
How can such a small box speaker sound so good?
Both are winners, depending on personal taste, music type, listening room/distance/volume, available electronics, to name a few.
I love the compact 7..... it is just special how the way they sound.
The C7s have more body and range but voices are better with the P3ESR. In my room I prefer the P3ESR with a subwoofer.
Yes, the p3esr with a sub is a good compromise. If the room is not too big, I found that the reasonably priced Rel Tzero to be a very good match.

It's not quite as simple as that. Room size, amp and how fast you are from speakers will have significant impact on how the P3s sound.
@vinylrulesok8470 Of course, that goes without saying. The C7ES3 and P3ESR were auditioned in 2 different dedicated rooms. I love my (underrated) Harbeth LS5/12a best.

With the front baffles level and the P3 on open stands, like Something Solid, I think the tiddlers would have it. The vocals are so good.

I agree with your observations. P3 can do magic. It disappears!
@@sleme1972 I recently got the P3ESR!😊
Hey everyone down the road I may get HL5+ what can I expect? This model never heard of.
COMPACT 7 ES2 first place , for wider soundstage vs P3ESR which is a little bit narrow.
C7ES2 might have more bass, but it also sounds more boxy.
i concur!!!!!
Yes! The P3 'disappears' quite easily in a room. Whereas the C7 will need a much bigger room to have the same effect.
@BruceCross the C7s need light hollow-section metal open frame stands with 4 small plastic caps attached at the top of each corner of each stand. These stands provide amazing results for the C7ES2.

Both have exceptional midrange but with some differences in sonic signatures
I guess its clear that they share the same dna.
soundstage with c7 is clearly larger, deeper and more relaxed. P3esr is more immediate, small soundstage.
P3esr seems more coherent between high and mids.

Why don't you use the same song for both speakers, so that we can get a better perspective?

P3 sounds faster
clearly not for rocks and heavy metal musics .. lack the rawness
