@HEPLY Because I have family and friends that I truly love but would truly act like I am not home when the gate security calls. I read your statement like, "I love my family and friends but I don't "like" them all the time." 🤣

@HEPLY I am laughing so hard right now because I understand. My mom taught my siblings and I, "seldom visits make longer friends." I seldom visit; when I do, I am not there long. I just ask for the same in return. lol!!! Look, people now know to call me before they visit. People have come and knocked on the door or pushed the doorbell and I never answered even though my car was in the driveway. I had to get them to understand; if you want to come over, call first and see if I am available for visits. I ABSOLUTELY UNDERSTAND!!!!

@@testing6753 What "humility"? We SHOULD resent the rich. No one ever got rich off of a wage. The only way people earn enough to afford a home like this is through the expropriation and misappropriation of surplus labour, in other words, STEALING the labour value of the working class. The people who got the fruits of their labour stolen? You can probably find them living in tiny apartments, struggling to make ends meet, or worse still, in their cars or out on the streets.
If you earn enough to afford a house that costs literal millions whilst your employees are struggling to make ends meet, what are you if not a terrible person? What are you if not the enemy of the working class?
The existence of such neighbourhoods is the epitome of class struggle - the epitome of the struggle between capital and labour. These people that seek security - they aren't being paranoid for no reason. They SHOULD be paranoid, because they are the class enemies of the working class.
By the way, I said "no" in that I would NEVER live in a community like this, not that I wouldn't want to live with the "common folk".

The irony is that France has some of the oldest gated communities, but they are struggling to make them work. I live in South Africa, and we have similar barricades. Some of them aren't that safe because if somebody is coming out the gate it's often very easy for a stranger to just drive in or for them to simply drive in right behind the car in front of them going in .
So yeah the more upscale ones have security people there , not just gates and the best ones often also have prongs or even poles that come up out of the ground to prevent a car from riding in right behind the one that's going in the gates .

yall talk about freedom so much then make a place that forces people to give up personal information daily just to work, makes it hell for public transport, forces people to live restricted lives, and creates huge gaps between rich and poor.

To build wealth and gain financial independence. Start investing, that's the only through way to accumulate great income and stay rich always. Really spent 30's and 40's investing in stock and real estate. thats the best decision I made earlier. and now life feels more good and easier.

It’s so secure they disclosed many if not all of their security vulnerabilities in a public video. This isn’t about security, it’s about needing the reassurance of each others’ approval. They’ve paid to feel like they’ve “arrived” into the very thing a person who can think for himself buys his way OUT of. Very ironic they think the only reason someone wouldn’t live there is financial. So it really is better for them to have places like this to go than show up next-door to me again trying to form another HOA.😏

It may be a nuisance to have to buzz people into a gated community, but a lot of apartment and condo buildings have the same thing, so oh well. This all looks wonderful. The gov'ts. don't serve the people, so the people have decided to serve themselves in small enclaves. Good on 'em!
