When I was deployed to Afghanistan, sometimes on my midnight to noon shifts, I would sit in the dark mornings and listen to the early morning prayers. I'm Christian, but even I can admit that those singing praises that early in the morning was a beautiful thing to witness. At least, in my opinion. As soon as I heard the opening and the man reading from the book in song, I instantly saw myself back in 2012, smoking a cigarette while listening to those guys.

I checked my entire flat until I realized that knocking was from my headphones. Fucking hell.

This is before the flash stick with gun powder came along. So photographers figured out that people can't hold a smile for very long - your cheek muscles start to twitch. Found your channel when I was in a very very very dark place Vladd. You had a way of making a horrifying game funny to your audience in a way that other channels don't seem to do it so naturally. I've been watching for well over a couple of years now and when things would get difficult for me, it's was like your videos would come to my rescue. I just wanna say thank you. I've heard middle eastern paranormal investigators repeat this anytime they get scared during their investigations. I forget the actual word for word translation though. I thought that was a nice little touch they added in, makes the character seem more real.

I cannot remember what it actually is translated, may go looking into it again. I couldn't agree more, it's amazing that they went so far into detail, I know the singing from the beginning is in the book itself. They put so much into this game, it's hard not to love it!

They often didn't smile in old photos as they had to hold the pose for such a long time. It was less blurry if you just held a relaxed face during the long exposure.
No one smiles in old pictures because they took so long to expose and holding a facial expression for that long without moving was too difficult. So it was easier to have no expression.
There are other reasons ... In Victorian times, smiling in photos was frowned upon, early photography was modelled on paintings and sometimes it was just up to the photographer themselves. But yeah, that was the main reason.

Hey nice video! The fact that people never seemed to smile in those old pictures is because with the old cameras, it took a long time for enough light to come into the camera. So it took a long while for the picture to actually be taken and it was too exhausting for the people to keep smiling. You can try it with modern cameras, when its dark the shutter will take much longer to close, hence the subjects have to stay still for longer or the image will be 'smeared'.
I remember hearing that people back then didn't smile in photos because they didn't want to look insane, they might've had horrible teeth and because it took so long to take the picture and it'd be hard to hold a smile. 5:06 I think that's 'The Anguished Man". Supposedly a real haunted painting.

Hey vladd the reason why people in old photos dont smile is because at the time period cameras took several minutes to take so standing there and smiling for several minutes would make your face hurt, and also if they moved it would mess with the camera and make the picture all blurry and they would have to retake the picture. They often didn't smile in old photos as they had to hold the pose for such a long time. It was less blurry if you just held a relaxed face during the long exposure.
No one smiles in old pictures because they took so long to expose and holding a facial expression for that long without moving was too difficult. So it was easier to have no expression.

There are other reasons ... In Victorian times, smiling in photos was frowned upon, early photography was modelled on paintings and sometimes it was just up to the photographer themselves. But yeah, that was the main reason.

The fact that people never seemed to smile in those old pictures is because with the old cameras, it took a long time for enough light to come into the camera.
So it took a long while for the picture to actually be taken and it was too exhausting for the people to keep smiling.
You can try it with modern cameras, when its dark the shutter will take much longer to close, hence the subjects have to stay still for longer or the image will be 'smeared'.

Hey vladd the reason why people in old photos dont smile is because at the time period cameras took several minutes to take so standing there and smiling for several minutes would make your face hurt, and also if they moved it would mess with the camera and make the picture all blurry and they would have to retake the picture. Anyways thought u might like to know 😄
