Closing the nests isn’t what triggers more ads, it’s being within a certain threshold of distance. There’s a couple different thresholds as you get closer. It’s a “heat” or “threat” system. But the most heat is generated by main and sub objectives. It runs off each player too, so splitting up speed up the process of more things spawning for groups whereas running in a group is optimal for less heat.
The nests thing is true, Crazymrpipz, some guys made crazy (and detailed) tests to understand all this hidden mechanics and the more you destroy nests and fabricators the more patrols spawn.

Damn, and here I was thinking you'd get rewarded with less enemies as you destroy more nests/ fabricators. That would be the logical thing to happen but oh well 🤷♀️
Completing primary objectives makes a much bigger impact of 50% more patrols. I believe the amount per objective is determined by how many there are.

When I’m maxed on samples I still pick em up so that chick doesn’t throw shade about no samples….lol

I find that the punisher plasma and guard dog rover combo deals with chaff well enough that the flamethrower is just superfluous. Instead of running a flamethrower, I strongly prefer EATs. I find they are more versatile in dealing with more things. For example, they handle spore spewers, shrieker nests and illegal broadcasts from a distance which comes in very handy. They also help deal with the bile titans a little more reliably than using your primary to finish them off when they are low and, of course, they one-shot chargers and can even kill a charger with the call in.
sure u can do that, but if i can have a primary instead of a stratagem to kill titans Ill always pick that and use the stratagem slot for something else

@@Crazymrpipz But you're not using your primary to kill titans. You are using Orbital Railcannon strike to do the heavy lifting and you are cleaning up with your primary. So I'll ask you, wouldn't you rather have an EAT on a 70 second cool down that can deal with a titan on its own rather than waiting 4 whole minutes for your Railcannon strike to be available again? Sorry, but I think Railcannon strike is a toxic strategem. It's a crutch for people with bad aim and it trivializes armored enemies on lower difficulties, but then those players never learn how to deal with those enemies reliably on higher difficulties where they spawn much more regularly.

Idk if i believe the closing nests thing. Ive always cleared the entire map before extracting and there are times where we ask where the bugs are cause the map feels so empty

This was not possible at launch.. I tried setting it to press but it was greyed out. Seems like they fixed it?

@@gbartho you can now set PRESS instead of TAP for the reload button, which used to not be possible for unknown reasons. PRESS is just more responsive so I'm happy that works now. EDIT: TAP activates on keyup, PRESS on keydown
I've been actually rocking Heavy armor against Bugs recently. Yeah, the slow speed sucks but the Hunters inevitably divebomb you from across the map nomatter what armor you use. Heavy armor makes those instances very survivable 😊
Get the green armor in the super shop right now, 150 armor and extra stim

Better rock the standard armor then, 150 armor with medium class.

@@Crazymrpipzwhat are you talking about its not useless you take waay less damage and you also take reduced head damage. I can get knocked around by chargers and barley loose any health especially if you run a sheild pack.
If too slow then put on a jet pack to bail out or wear extra padded medium armor. Anything over 100 armor gets reduced damage but the 100 armor itself does not has to be over lol smh 🤦♂️ you must of not read the update close enough on the armor change.
I use the arc thrower and the arc blitzer to massicare bugs with rover and 500kg and orbital laser. Destroys a whole horde in seconds and use it in my solo helldive missions, slaying 1000s of bugs
after the latest buff to armor rating over 100 reducing headshot damage, the default medium armor with extra padding makes hunters SO much LESS lethal.
I think its tied right now with 6 stim light armor.
I want to sort of agree. I have been trying the >100 medium armors too and when a single hunter is on you, it won’t get a lucky headshot kill like it can vs light armor, but also it doesn’t do anything to the hunter that slows you amid a number of mobs. That said, I do like these >100 armors and particularly the Enforcer (125 armor and explosive resistance) vs bots. It may be the best in the game.
The light armor at 100 has been my go to. Padding and speed.
From what I've heard it's armor with 100 or above, not just greater than 100

well I use it for side missions not for normal holes, that said this mission I didnt run for the nests as much but I wanted people to see that its possible to pick this up and still do the run, cause if I dont than ill have comments like - LOL BRO... HOW U GONNA CLOSE BUGHOLES BRO?... so ya thats why i picked it up :D
Blitzer + "Guard Dog" Rover + stun grenades + orbital laser and you can keep and even push entire bugs army

I don’t understand why we can’t just use any weapon against heavy armor to at least do SOME damage. If I’m unloading a full mag on a bile titan in the face or the chest with an AR, how am I not doing at least 5% damage per bullet? Why 0%?
If you shoot a projective at anything, and it does not penetrate the surface, what happens? The armor shell is very thick but the projectile you are shooting is not big enough or fast moving enough. Unload that mag into the flesh part of the titan and you have reduced it's health by about 50% AND started the bleed out process. That's plenty enough for weapons with no penetration.
@@COA5T bro, even WATER will put a dent in anything over time, and I don't even mean pressurized cannons or whatever, just literal water droplets constantly hitting a rock will, over time, slowly pulverize it... bug carapace/chitin should be no different with high powered rifles

You just said your bullets from your rifle should be no different than water hitting a rock over time (which btw if you google it, that process can take a minimum of 720 days). Water...lol. You, as a complaining Helldiver who needs to be reported to the nearest Democracy Officer, and your weapon ARE NOT WATER doing anything over time.

I get that you can't run it right now due the the bug with the plasma punisher, but I would strongly recommend running the shield backpack with this after it's fixed as it actually prevents you catching fire during uptime and elemental damage drains it very little too. Also, the loadout already has so much crowd clearing potential for the little guys that I don't see much need for the Rover here, especially with outweighing it's risks. And if you're not closing holes, a standard pistol for when the hunters get close could be good too.

That's what the Super Colony is about and now the order failed it's spreading more and more. I think they are trying to use lore to make us run more bot missions.

FUN FACT: was trying out the plasma shotgun today and apparently if you have the shield pack on when you fire it it explodes in your face so dont use these two together stick to the jetpack or the rover with this gun.
What about jet pack instead? Seems the rover wasn’t really keeping the hunters off your back enough to justify itself…

Why the punisher plasma over the scorcher? I hear that one can bust the sack on the titans and then if you do that the railcannon always kills it. Not sure if punisher plasma can do that as easily but if it can, def do that.

How are you sprinting with map open ?
Opening the map will interrupt your sprint, just hit sprint again. Works for me at least

Looks like that Host PS5 glitch that buffs your flamethrower damage plays a big part in this build. Otherwise if you're not the host the Flamethrower does not pump out that kind of damage
that got FIXED already :) in this video that bug is not a thing

Yeah I brought that loadout and immediately killed myself after landing. I just had to leave the shield backpack behind.

Wtf so thats why ive been having such a harder time after the update...ive always been the bug hole guy, first thing i do dropping into a match is to try to close all holes, i want the 5 star and xp!😢
i still play with incendiary breaker and flamethrower cuz is fast to kill bile titan with it
in a 20 game test ... in the 10 games we didnt kill all the holes the amount of bugs at extract was insane. the 10 games we DID kill every bug hole ?? we pretty much stood there waiting for extraction. In a short mission it wouldnt matter .. but stopping spawns doesnt lead to more mobs. Most of those patrol will despawn ... i have watched them despawn.
I was going to get the grenade pistol, but I can close holes other ways. I need the redeemer.

Lately ive been liking the eagle Cluster bomb much better than the 500KG , the 500K misses way too much
Makes sense if you used the 500 against swarms. The 500kg does a load of damage, but in a very small area. It is good for destroying BIG things, not many small things. Eagle cluster is the opposite. Lot of small damage over a huge area.

It does increase patrol rates when closing more nests. Just search about helldivers 2 patrols. There's plenty of info on it

Closing bugholes= completing side objectives. Yes, completing side objectives does reduce the time between patrol spawns, but not as much as completing any main objective.

I find it completely disingenuous that you do not mention, at any point, that you are sponsored by, and currently using, Eagle Sweat in order to complete these missions.
Spawns have been increased solo to the same as a squad. Before it was like 1/6 now it’s 1/4 same as a squad. So you have the same difficulty as a squad before it was easier to solo
