DUANE ALLMAN IS THE HEART AND SOUL OF ANY BAND HE PLAYS WITH. HIS MASTERFUL SLIDE AND EXCELLENT GUITAR PLAYING IS THE BEST I HAVE EVER HEARD. THE DEAD HEADS SHOULD LISTEN TO THIS. QUICKWATER.
Did not know this existed. Nice to hear how how Duane and Jerry work on the same stage. Duane definitely is more of a bluesman, so he can't help a few minor thirds here and there that are verboten in the Dead lexicon in this sort of jam. But it still work pretty spectacularly. Thanks for posting!
When I listen to live recordings I like to try to transport myself to the show in my head. I try to connect with the vibe they were feeling that night. It doesn’t happen often but this one did it.
.... this concert... love... Allman's... dead....8:30...11pm... show... everyone stayed... went will Tina Yee...set my life in a different direction...

Fillmore East capacity was 2650......extremely lucky souls!
@@raybrown2608 I had always thought it was bigger. No wonder it was such a popular place. So many awesome live albums were recorded there!!!
Pure heaven!..
Imagine if Duane actually knew the song..
I know, right? He still nailed it too.
Thank you for putting this up. Very much appreciated.👍🕺🌌

Never heard before. Adds a different flavor to this classic song Duanes riffs are interesting. Still like the original better
Was there ever a version of Dark Star with Duane playing?
EC invited Duane to sit in on Layla for a reason.......
Clapton didn't know about Duane until Bobby Whitlock mentioned he knew a player that was Duane.
