    wow... amazing breadth of knowledge you've showcased here. i've been dipping my toes in astrology but finally sat down to truly study it like my other subjects and i'm now loyal forever to your channel for explaining concepts... other channels didn't nearly have as much information and citations as you did. i can read a natal chart pretty well but just picked up the picatrix and man, it's not just a book - it's an entire system. this video taught me a great deal and i'm looking forward to watching more of your videos... i'm going to make my own history videos and the clean way you've done this is exactly how i'm wanting my content to come out. bravo - on the knowledge and on the delivery. best resource for astrology on here for my study and i'm so picky with this type of thing...

    Princess Diana actually had Sun conjunct Sirius in Right Ascension, but most astrologers ignore Right Ascension.
    I don't know why.
    Astronomers work with Right Ascension and Declination to track and locate celestial objects.

      @@MedievalAstrologyGuide hello, i was wondering if the orb absolutely has to be small? I have ascendant Conjunct Altair but its within 7 degrees. Altair is a magnitude of 0.77 and its on an angle (asc) in my chart. I find myself resonating with it greatly. But, most astrologers keeps the orb tight. Mine is extremely loose, but i still relate to it.

    Great stuff! The fixed stars are a difficult subject to find useful information on. Thankyou 👍👍

    This is a very good quick introduction. The resources in part 6 (41:36) left out Chris Warnock's Renaissance Astrology website (and book and course), but is otherwise excellent. I am also finding Bernadette Brady's two books on the stars to be useful, although I sympathize with other trad astrologers who are suspicious of her "innovations" (mainly the use of rotated parans, a [Ninth-House] topic for another time).

      Can you expand on what traditional astrologers criticize about Brady's book? Much respect thank you.

    I´ve seen some explanation once, about the degree differences on the rising planet or star. It was said that those computer programs (astronomers) measures it from the "surface" of Earth, and the planetary angle is measured from the center of "Earth". That can cause some difference, depending in how far the object is from our planet. Thanks for the video!!!!

    I found myself here after watching some videos by Damien Echols. He mentioned the star Regulus. The more I’m learning about the fixed stars, I realize that Regulus is associated with Virgo, my astrological sign. I’m wondering if this is a sign to start working with Regulus 👁️👄👁️

    So Nina Gryphon saying that all use of and interaction with fixed stars will end badly? Why is she so certain of that? It wasnt clear.

    At 21:38 you tell that Venus rules her 10th house, but what do you mean? Her MC being in Libra and being her 10th house cusp? You're using the equal house system? I'm a bit confused

    • @MedievalAstrologyGuide
      @MedievalAstrologyGuide  4 ปีที่แล้ว

    • @YouNolf
      @YouNolf 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@MedievalAstrologyGuide I see. What are the differences between 10th house cusp and MC? Do you use the equal house system?

    • @FreemanPresson
      @FreemanPresson 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@YouNolf Diana was born in Sandringham, UK (52.8°N), so Ryhan might have used Equal houses to avoid high-latitude distortion. The chart also has the MC in H11 in Whole-sign houses.
      I would also be interested in knowing when Ryhan uses Equal Houses-I know that there is some support for it in the ancient sources, and in modern practice for charts near the Arctic Circle.

    I feel like its a reoccuring mistake to assume that anything an ancient writer wrote should be taken super literally and matter of fact....
