- Hello everyone! This week I sang House Of Asmodeus from Helluva Boss with Eiry!
I loved the jazz sections of this song the second I heard it and knew immediately that I had to sing an arrangement of it. I really wanted to expand those parts and allow it to stand on it’s own (not that the original isn’t great but it’s very much a mashup of a bunch of different songs and my main interest is in seductive demon jazz). With the assistance of Jeysun (who remade this track TWICE because it wasn’t what I wanted the first time), I think we managed to do a pretty bang up job.

It's a far better design than his actual one. I always hated his design, it's so odd and doesn't fit his character or voice at all. I wish they had put more work into the final product. Whoever drew this for her did a far better job

I like how, if asmodeus has a human. His design would be similar to this, but I really love the way how those skulls that are in his mane are earrings in this female counterpart version of him.
I think those earrings are the other 2 heads, or at least faces that can be seen in his mane.

Asmodeus is mixed with four other animals, cow, goat, rooster, and snake because they were associated with lust.

Fun Fact: "Asmodeus" is the demon of lust and it is said that whoever falls in Asmodeus's ways will be sentenced to eternity in the second lower of hell. Also, He is a demon of lechery, jealousy, anger, and revenge.
He also is actually named in the Septuagint canon of the Bible (book of Tobit). The levels and particular domain are not quite as specified though. Not that he wasn’t necessarily brought into the situation by lust, but it doesn’t exactly make him unique among every other idol-inhabiting sex demon in the ancient Near East that the Israelites were… frankly not staying away from as much as their prophets were warning them to.

I honestly didn't realize how sexual this song was until you covered it, never cared to look up the lyrics but now that I'm reading them I love this song even more
The Lyrics are quite different from the original, proably to not get the video restricted or stuff. The original song is pretty graphic in is language and def 18+, but I think her Cover and interpretation is pretty nice and solid too! Kept the core vibe of the song without using all the dirty language : )

The song was way more sexual in the original. Not just the lyrics, but the delivery. The original had an extremely crass tone. She's way too smooth and seductive for a song that was written to be metaphorically well past the foreplay. When the word thrust comes up, you should take the meaning into the delivery to emphasize it. To me she never sounds like she believes the things she's saying because she's too busy with all the flourish. Don't get me wrong, she's a great singer, but she's clearly no actor. She just takes all the character out of the character songs she covers.

I love the extension of the song. I loved the original, but it fell victim to the “being a part of a show” curse, making it not very listenable, coming out of the song so much to do show stuff. That’s why I love when show songs release a full, uninterrupted version.
So, all that to say, I’m gonna add this to my playlist and jam out for a few hours.

I do love this Cover, and the changing of the lyrics to fit the overall nature of the more solo performance is really nice. I just kind of wish that some parts of the original lyrics were COMPLETELY 1:1, as they were quite nice.
In this version, there are occasional tweaks and changed made to them that take away that bite that the original song had.
Honestly? Not complaining, I’m glad someone else finally did a cover for this one.
On the one hand, the tweaks made here were great. On the other, I really miss Verosika's verse!

Why is this so catchy?! 😆 the original felt awesome yet kinda saddening to me since it was Moxxie and Blitz getting mocked in public (which makes sense for what was happening in the scene in the show) and every time I heard the song I end up thinking about the episode, while this version feels something I can just happily listen to casually and boogie to 😆

A song this heavily tied to the scene it takes place in is very, *very* difficult to cover while keeping the same soul to it. And this may be my favorite attempt at it yet. This absolutely kicks ass.

Hazbin Hotel is confined to the Pride ring, I'm pretty sure (as that seems to be where all the mortal sinners are restricted to), while Asmodeus seemingly rules over the Lust ring. We're unlikely to see Ozzie in particular in Hazbin Hotel unless under one of two conditions:
a.) It's possible for mortal sinners to bypass the restriction to the Pride ring (maybe Alastor specifically, given his power level?)
b.) We get a Charlie solo episode where she heads to Lust without the rest of the crew for one reason or another (being hellborn and the daughter of Lucifer, she can pretty much do what she wants)
@@robloxcool88 You're probably right. Maybe that Charlie solo ep could be her making a plea with 'Uncle Ozzie' to help Angel Dust? Being the Embodiment of Lust means he probably has dominion over Valentino (the Overlord of Pornography), and given his abusive nature towards Angel, it could be something Charlie might want to 'cash in a favor' for...

@@robloxcool88 I presume the restriction to the Pride Ring for Sinners may have something to do with the yearly Purges. Seeing how much damage the Exterminator Angels do, no other Ring probably wants to take Sinners since they are the targets. So travel is probably restricted both by layers of security and other methods, possibly even Lucifer's tacit cooperation with the Purges.

While the original in its entirety is great narratively, I also gravitated towards the jazzy beginning and ending, so I was really happy to find essentially an extension of this theme that kept the jazziness and (enough of the) seductiveness of the original. Great cover as usual!

What I think is very interesting about this cover is that it highlights how this song was written for a man-the singer is talking about lust and desire, but not specifically desire _for them,_ just the feelings in general.
Songs like this where women sing them are usually about how they _inspire_ that lust for them. It’s the difference between a pimp and a prostitute.

This cover is well sung, but I feel like it's a bit too restrained. A big part of why "House of Asmodeus" is such a memorable musical number is because of how bombastic it is and how Asmodeus commands the attention of everyone watching.
Still, I appreciate the additional verses and it's nice to hear the song properly finish. Other covers include Moxxie's portions, but we all know who the real stars of this number are.
