What your go to eyeshadow combo? Do you use drugstore or highend? and what shade do you use the most?? I would love to hear from you! Have a wonderful week! Also my sister Treena, helped me do my voiceover 😂 she’s so funny!
I’m in the US, and I am primarily a ColourPop eyeshadow person. I like the fact that I can get a lot of different colors without spending too much. Julep eyeshadow sticks are also absolute staples. Their pale purple is a perfect sheer base and color corrector for my eyelids. The taupey shade (I think it’s called Stone?) is perfect for contouring my eyes and adding subtle definition. That’s my go-to for lazy makeup days. When I want to do more, I almost always go for soft, neutral purples with some glittery toppers. Lately I’ve been really getting into subtle, low-contrast halo eyes.
I would say 90% of my makeup is from the drugstore. L'Oréal, ELF, Milani, and NYX make up the majority of my collection. I do have a couple of Nars single eyeshadows and a blush. Love the formulation of those! I tend to lean towards the pinks, mauves, purples and blue-greens because of my fair cool toned complexion. I've yet to find a perfect cool tone brown.
Thank you for sharing that information, woodwinked is such a pretty colour! Thank you so much for being here for that long, I really appreciated that, thank you my friend!

@TheMakeupChair Sheady, the pleasure and privilege is mine! You look pretty natural...you don't need a lot of makeup to look beautiful like some of these You Tubers! Keep up the great work 😘👍
I'm a drugstore lady. High-end has to be amazing for me to part with my hard-earned 💰🤨. My go-to: bronzer in the crease, liner & mascara - out the door 💃🏾✌🏾
I have a medium deep skin tone (leaning neutral/cool olive), so the drugstore eyeshadow palette doesn't show up on me (meaning not in the same intensity as it is on the pan) unless I use a colorful base underneath. The best palette I can use without having to do any work is Love's Journey from Sydney Grace (a US indie brand). I can put any matte eyeshadow on the crease and one shimmer on the lid using my fingers and it's beautiful. I recommend this brand to anyone who's looking for something that works great and prefers simple and neutral makeup looks. Ps: I live in France, but I suggested a US-based brand because I suppose the majority of people here are in North America. I also heard good things about What's Up Beauty (not tested yet) and Cosmic Brushes (UK-based, have my validation but only for people who want more "impactful" looks). I can get into more details if someone is interested 😊 Sending you positive vibes from Paris 😊
my favourite one-and-done eyeshadow is the NARS Dual Intensity Eyeshadow in Himalia. not a matte, but it's the best eyeshadow for me, IMO. sadly, it's been discontinued, and so now i wander the earth, a wretched wraith, in search of the perfect dupe! dramatics aside, the closest i've come is Dior's single eyeshadow in Beige Mitzah, which is close, colour-wise, but lacking in the depth and dimension that Himalia had.
@@TheMakeupChair ooh, i have not tried the ND one, nor have i heard of the Tarte one, but i did own Mulch, and it was too brown (at least on my skintone; Himalia was more taupe-y, but not as cool as Satin Taupe, so if Mulch and Satin Taupe had a baby, it probably would've been close). i will look into the others though, thank you!
@@volatileflame I think sable would would still be a bit too cool too, it's a mix of Mulch and Satin Taupe but more satin taupe. I hope you find something, I will keep a look out and if I ever find one I will come back and message you here, Have a great day 🥰

I love this idea of uncovering your one shadow. I’ve been keeping my makeup simple. Which one shadow do you recommend? I only wear blush by Elf- Bora Bora, eye liner by Clinique-Royal Couple and Fenty lip balm- Pinch Me
I've done this and it's an absolute game-changer. Enjoying a soft eye and the focus being on either soft or brighter lip. The biggest help to me was looking at which colours I used (and didn't use) in pallets...was subconsciously already using the 2-colour combo that suited.
@TheMakeupChair Urban Decay Naked 3...just bought the mini version because I never used the really dark shades. And also use the ELF blush/highlighter duos as eyeshadow when I want a coral look, having green/blue eyes. I just love makeup.
This is me too. Red hair, hazel eyes, fair skin, warm undertones. My lids have so much veining that it's hard to find a saturated color without going too dark.
You could try something like - Sandstone, Cozy Grey, Orb, Cork or what about - Terresphere from that palette, would that work for you? I don't have that palette so I am just guessing.
Suggestions please. I love MAC lip shade Soar and NARS orgasm blush. I don't wear bronzer or contour. I am au natural. What color MAC eyeshadow would you suggest. Thank you
I just did a makeup bag update and rebuys the naked 2 was the first rebuy, I don’t know how available sosu is but I’m using the remastered “hot”pallet and remastered one pallet blank canvas I love wet and wild but I have not found the shades I usually use I think it’s nutty ( satin taupe dupe ) and my skin tone shade I think it’s blanc or I’m confusing it with the dupe but it’s pale flesh shade
I have recently purchased 3 different Sigma eyeshadow palettes. I have not used them yet… as I have been trying to learn some different eyeshadow looks. And I have several drugstore palettes to practice with! For 20+ years I have worn the same exact look and shades on my eyes! Boring! But beautiful! It was a combination of the shade Sin from Urban Decay’s Naked 1 palette, Buzz from the Naked 3 palette, and Mac’s Pink Freeze. 2 out of 3 of these shades have been discontinued. And I have spent oodles of time & money searching for and purchasing these discontinued shades! It’s crazy! I currently have 5 of the Naked 3 palettes because the shade Buzz is empty but the other 11 pans are full! 🤦🏻♀️ It’s time to move on I think… lol. 😂
I have a question. Do these tips still apply if you are cool toned? The colors that look best on me in clothing are cool colors that are quite bright and deep. So would I still look for muted and soft tones for my makeup, even though brights normally look best and cool colours? I have a light skin tone, and dark hair, with brown eyes, so would this work for me? Sorry if this is a silly question, I;m new to all of this. Thanks so much for the video! - Jerusha
Hi there! Not a silly question at all, so the reason we use muted or soft tones is because this shade is understated, you aren't really meant to see it, it's a shade you use to blend out your other eyeshadow but can be used alone. It's like a blush but for your eyes, you know how blush add that little lift to your face or how a nude lipstick evens the tone of your lips it's like that but for the eyes. The best way to do this for the eyes is for it to be understated, muted, soft, that way it brings out the eyes shade and even the tone on the lid but also its undetectable in a way. It's subtle. So you still want to use the cool colours, and they can be bright cools but they need to be soft, muted bright cools. I hope this is making sense. So maybe these shades : Cozy Grey, Yogurt, Shell Peach, Malt, Orb, do you think any of those will work at all?
Oh wow! Thank you so much, that does make sense! I have never understood eyeshadow, but after reading your reply I think I can. Yay! And yes, those colors should work. Thanks again, you made my day! - Jerusha x
