Yep! I'm a minimalist and used to be a professional organizer and I live by that thought process: every single thing that enters my home is something I have to dust, maintain, clean, move around, deal with, or expend time/energy/money on. When I look at things with that lens, it changes my mind on things (and I've gotten rid of/sold some stuff that I thought would make life easier and just ended up creating more work for me).
YES!! I am right there with you! Sometimes things appear to be helpful but ultimately cost me more energy.
I am at thus point of getting rid of and wanting to sell things. But what do you mean it created more work? Super curious lol
I am right there with you! I want to have a pretty home but not at the expense of a lot of my free time spent cleaning, cleaning and cleaning all the tchotchkes as both my husband and I have full time jobs and our days off are precious to us and our family. I like a clutter free home, nothing in my kitchen counters except the coffee maker and the mixer and a few real plants, same with my other rooms- minimal items on flat surfaces and every cabinet and drawer is organized to within an inch of the space! We use to live in a 3,000sqft home with 4bed/3baths and we downsized to 1200sqft and it was amazing to see 2, yes TWO, trailers full of donated household items like furniture, kitchen items, bedding, clothing, books and toys my children had long ago outgrown- when you have so much space and storage, it is easy to shove things to the back and forget them- what those trailers did was furnish and clothe a single mother’s new apartment- great for her as we donated it all to her and disgusting to us that we had so much unused and wasted items just because we could accumulate it. Now, anything coming into our smaller home is a thoughtful decision and we usually remove and donate something first. To me, living large is not becoming a prisoner of accumulating stuff you really don’t NEED but want.
It's so great the girls can share a room. I have six sisters and we all shared a room and loved it!

i'm minimal and declutter a lot ! you should see my patio ... i have like those giant garbage bags, i have like 5 full of bottles to recycle and 7 more with just CRAP that i have sorted ...
I love decluttering videos. I had a thought…the area upstairs that you just painted might be a great place to hang a huge world map on the big blank wall. It would be good for home school plus it would look good!

I was like that, with the one set of bedding, when the kids were little. Now I'm in the time of life where it's just me, so I get to have multiple sets of my bedding. Although I probably have more than what one person needs, like 8 😮😊

I have turned minimalist now, I owned way to much clothes shoes boots bags, loads went to charity, I loved everything you done with the girls bedrooms that's my fav with wee reading sofa xx

We measured our unit and went to Home Depot and got a piece of white board and nailed it to the back. So it still looked nice, but nothing could fall out the back. Worked like a charm!

I accidentally got semi gloss for my boys room instead of satin and I will never use anything else bc just the amount of dings in the walls it covers up is enough for me. Plus the wiping ability 👌🏼
It’s so frustrating to try to clean a matte wall, it ends up looking worse! I’m right there with you on the ease of semi gloss walls!
