I have never understood why asmr videos are so BRIGHT!? I usually have to turn my brightness all the way down and switch it to low light so I can fall asleep. I wish all asmr videos did this. This will be one of my go to’s for a while! Thank you 😊
some ASMR tists make videos for studying or visual triggers as well so there are some reasons they might be intentionally colored. I know batala ASMR always darkens her videos but you could still tingle from the visual triggers too that way!

And folks, don't sweat the ad...I just start the video while I'm in the last few minutes of getting ready for bed and it makes me want to hurry up and climb in before the ad is over so I'm ready for the main content. 😊
I first started listening to ASMR when I was pregnant with my oldest son, 5 years ago. You and Maria were the first ones I ever stumbled upon and I've been here ever since. Now, my 5 year old son asks to "watch the mom videos" with me at bedtime and I know exactly who he's asking for! He must've been soothed, even in the womb, cause your voice puts him right to sleep without fail. So grateful to have you in our lives, especially at the roughest of bedtimes! Why is everyone so upset over the Better Help ad? Because everything else you watch doesn’t have any ads or commercials in it? Do you know how many ads, propaganda, and nonsense you see on a daily basis? Get real. Emma does so much, pours her heart, time, and effort into this and all you have to do is give her some support. For me, the irritating thing about the sponsorships in ASMR is when I want to loop a video and the ad wakes me up even if it's whispered because it's a different tone or involves a lot of talking. The nonsense you see daily is different than this situation because we expect and begrudgingly accept nonsense from ads on Facebook, Hulu, cable TV, etc - those are from corporations who don't care about us. But what bothers me, other than the looping issue, is actually these endless comments about Better Help. Y'all are stressing me out. I guess I'll have to watch, not scroll through comments, and then switch the video...

Our most vulnerable moments were recorded and released to strangers, and we recently received emails like this: "Because of a settlement between the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) and BetterHelp, you are entitled to a refund. The FTC says that BetterHelp promised to keep users’ information private but revealed data to Facebook, Snapchat, Pinterest, and Criteo for advertising purposes. This data included email addresses, IP addresses, and personal answers to health questions."

It’s not about sponsorships in general it’s about the specific sponsorship (better help) which is known to be a scam. I never asked for Emma to make this her full time job but if she wants to make money though sponsorships then she needs to take them from credible companies. When I see a creator take a better help sponsor for example it tells me they didn’t research the company at all and are just looking for quick money!

They were found to sell clients/patients' personal and medical information to facebook and other sites. Also not only do they underpay the therapists but they don't even vet them correctly, so you end up with terrible professionals. Look up all their controversies, it's a terrible service.
People are so sensitive… the ad is LITERALLY SKIPPABLE. There are time stamps in the video. The same people complaining about a 1-minute ad probably need therapy the most 😂
It’s okay to be critical of a person, you know that right? Most of the comments are not an attack against Emma. It’s simply asking her not to promote a website that sells data and is sketchy/ scamming people. When someone trusts a creator then they are more likely to use a product that is promoted (that’s why influencer marketing works). So it can be upsetting for someone to see that she took such a sketchy sponsorship that wouldn’t be possible without the viewers. It shows to me that creators will take a sponsorship and sign a contract of a company/product they haven’t used or didn’t research well enough.

It’s not about sponsorships in general it’s about the specific sponsorship (better help) which is known to be a scam. I never asked for Emma to make this her full time job but if she wants to make money though sponsorships then she needs to take them from credible companies. When I see a creator take a better help sponsor for example it tells me they didn’t research the company at all and are just looking for quick money!

They were found to sell clients/patients' personal and medical information to facebook and other sites. Also not only do they underpay the therapists but they don't even vet them correctly, so you end up with terrible professionals.
Look up all their controversies, it's a terrible service.

People are so sensitive… the ad is LITERALLY SKIPPABLE. There are time stamps in the video. The same people complaining about a 1-minute ad probably need therapy the most 😂
It’s okay to be critical of a person, you know that right? Most of the comments are not an attack against Emma. It’s simply asking her not to promote a website that sells data and is sketchy/ scamming people. When someone trusts a creator then they are more likely to use a product that is promoted (that’s why influencer marketing works). So it can be upsetting for someone to see that she took such a sketchy sponsorship that wouldn’t be possible without the viewers. It shows to me that creators will take a sponsorship and sign a contract of a company/product they haven’t used or didn’t research well enough.
