  • Repairing a Bosch 11232EVS rotary hammer drill. The previous owner was using this rotary hammer with a chisel bit in a crawl space to remove part of the foundation when it started cutting out. This thing was filthy, inside and out. See the links below for the parts and tools I used:
    Brushes:

    1/2" Spline Hammer Drill Bit:

    Thank you , I was able to fix mine by cleaning it as well

      It surprises me how often something can be fixed just by cleaning it. These rotary hammers often work down in the concrete and dirt so I would say many fail in the same way as this one. Thanks for the comment!

    Thankyou very much. I just fonished using my hammer drill outside killing s tree stump, which was working with rotational difficulties. I know that I'm going to need to perform a thorough cleaning and lubrication with grease. Also on my cordless drill. As I was forced to work outside with dirt rhat drill too needs a very thorough cleaning 👍

      Yep, anytime you've got 'em down in the dirt like that, they're gonna suck in all kinds of crud. :) Thanks for the comment!

    Hey can you help me with how to lock the bit in place I’m trying to and it’s not staying put!

    • @Mikeattempts
      @Mikeattempts  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I'm no pro but I think this specific drill can only accept hex style bits, not the newer SDS style bits. The manual says to pull the lock bolt outward and rotate it 180˚, insert the hex shank bit into the tool holder, with the recess on the shank facing downward, and return the lock bolt to the original position. If the bit still won't stay in, then I'd guess there might be an issue with the lock bolt.

    Very good demo. Unfortunately, I needed to know how to rebuild the hammer mechanism, perhaps next video.

    Great video. I have the same hammer drill and I got it to work now but I am having a problem with the speed dial. Even if I turn it high or low, the speed stay on high speed from beginning to end. Any advice on how to fix it?

    • @Mikeattempts
      @Mikeattempts  ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm no pro but I guess there's a chance that the speed wheel is stripped and not actually turning the center pin. If that's not the case, and the contacts are clean, you'd probably need a new speed governor.

    great video congratulations, maybe you can help me with a question, it turns out that I have the same bosch 11232evs model but I haven't found a bull point chisel that fits perfectly in my drill I would like to know what size to buy so I can use it thank you!

    • @Mikeattempts
      @Mikeattempts  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      This rotary hammer uses Spline type bits. From the description, it sounds like this bull point would work: amzn.to/3Trcel6

    I have that same Hammer. Mine sometimes doesnt want to start turning. Sometimes it just gums when I pull the trigger. Sometimes it will start turning if I turn the bit by hand while holding the trigger. Any thoughts?

    • @Mikeattempts
      @Mikeattempts  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You know the little speed control wheel? Does it do the same thing no matter what speed it's set to?

    • @wirenut9062
      @wirenut9062 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@Mikeattempts yes it does. Same no matter what speed it's on

    • @wirenut9062

      @Mikeattempts and that was "hums" not "gums"

    • @Mikeattempts
      @Mikeattempts  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@wirenut9062 Hmm, I'm no pro, I guess it could be a lot of things. Maybe it needs new brushes or maybe the bearings need to be replaced. It's hard to say for sure.

    Fascinating to look at, but the average Joe would never know how to put it back together unless he takes pics at every step. And even so, it's a slim chance

    • @Mikeattempts
      @Mikeattempts  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I'm no pro, I am the average Joe! :) Luckily, I had video to refer back to, in case I needed it. The key is to try to do it all in 1 or 2 days so you don't forget what went where. :)

    What size the bit?

    • @Mikeattempts
      @Mikeattempts  8 วันที่ผ่านมา

      This rotary hammer can only accept hex style bits, not the newer SDS style bits. I used a 1/2" bit in the video.
