It's probably because it's his first fight in MMA and he has only trained constantly for how long, probably less than a year in total as he kept getting injured. While it is probably obvious that he's been taught on how to quickly react, in a real fight- his first one at that- he's going to feel the pressure and feel a bit weird since he's not used to it.

Watching this as a WWE fan is just sad, no other way to put it. All the hype right up to this entrance and then reality hit for Punk and everyone else. The guy should have never been in there. On top of that it didn't seem like he had the best gameplan. Ran right at Gall and allowed himself to be taken down.
I honestly think he's more capable than this, and that the gameplan ruined it for him. That made it much harder for him, on top of the experience disadvantage. Of course he's never going to be the best or near the top at that age, but I really believe he can make some inroads.
Lesnar also dominated most of his first fight and had an extensive amateur wrestling background. Be real for a second. The man is not cut out for MMA. Not a bad thing, just reality.

The point is, if Brooks, like Bautista, like Lesnar, like Lashley, like Rodriguez(Alberto Del Rio), started his MMA career in the regionals, THAT would be praiseworthy. Unfortunately, he decided to jump the shark and start right at the top. Life doesn't work like that, no matter who you are.

Watching this as a WWE fan is just sad, no other way to put it. All the hype right up to this entrance and then reality hit for Punk and everyone else. The guy should have never been in there. On top of that it didn't seem like he had the best gameplan. Ran right at Gall and allowed himself to be taken down.
I honestly think he's more capable than this, and that the gameplan ruined it for him. That made it much harder for him, on top of the experience disadvantage. Of course he's never going to be the best or near the top at that age, but I really believe he can make some inroads.
He should stay away from MMA imo
Lesnar lost his first match. Chill and follow the journey. When he retires you can speak about how he never belonged.
Lesnar also dominated most of his first fight and had an extensive amateur wrestling background. Be real for a second. The man is not cut out for MMA. Not a bad thing, just reality.
But it's comments like those that are gonna keep fueling Punk in his MMA career. It's not unheard of, if he can get at least a 2-1 record and retire I'll consider it an alright UFC career

CM Punk had over 500,000 reasons to fight. If he truly want to pursue a dream, he would have had some amateur fights first, but he simply wanted to be a part of the UFC, to have that prestige, and he got it because of his celebrity, not his hard work.
