Yea the chocolate bar was a gift from Joeys (Ron) parents. They actually had a good amount of money to produce the show :)
They even said the reason Ron eats is because Joey would be eating in rehearsal so they just kept it in
For context about the audience being super loud - this was filmed at an extra performance they put on at about midnight on the last night of the run because there was so much demand and people wanted to see it so bad they were sold out and cramming people in left right and centre, and because it was the last night and really late loads of the cast improv'd/changed stuff (Darren just not remembering his lines and making stuff up in general) and I think the audience was having just as much of a wild time as the cast was 😂
Also, if you can't hear things because of the audience, all of Starkid's musicals are fully captioned and I recommend watching with captions.

When I watched star kid for the first time I HATED Lauren for making Draco funny because I have such a huge crush on him from the movies and I was so defensive over him but when I actually watched it she became my favorite actor in the whole star kid productions, she's so funny and she makes him so amazing

Dylan Saunders (Dumbledore) is SO underrated. After you finish the other two Harry Potter musicals, you NEED to watch Twisted, which does to Aladdin what Wicked did to the Wizard of Oz. Dylan Saunders plays Jafar!

They’ll make sense regardless of the order. But if you watch Black Friday first, you might get confused as to why people are cheering a few times.

On the sound issue, all starkid musicals have closed captions. They are really helpful and for shows like Trail to Oregon can be really funny as well. Highly recommend watching A Very Potter Senior Year with them on because there are some mic issues

the first thing i thought of when i saw this was the word squirrel
I was a sophomore at U of M when they performed this and got to go to the second show. It really was an awesome experience; the energy in the space was insane. (They actually added more shows because word spread around campus about how great it was.) Once it blew up, people started sending me the link, and I was crazy excited that they were finding success and that I had been there to experience it in person. We’re all super proud of Starkid and Darren! Go Blue!

Darren wrote all the songs for Avpm with AJ Holmes and music for Avps, and he wrote music for Starship while he was working on glee, he's basically one of the main people who started Starkid :)
I think technically AJ and Darren split the songwriting for AVPM, like Back to Hogwarts is all Darren and Different as Can Be is all AJ.

So, a bunch of the Starkids have been involved with Starry: Lauren Lopez and Dylan Saunders in the cast itself and performing at 54 below was: Jamie Lyn Beatty, Nathan Chester, Jeff Blim and Mariah Rose Faith.
Also, Quirrel (Brian Rosenthal) and Ron (Joey Richter) have their own company called Tin Can Brothers and I highly recommend watching their musical called "Spies are Forever."

Even if the productions aren't top quality Broadway material, they're still really entertaining and funny, and are put together very well. A lot of the actors in Starkid are also very, very talented. Many of their other shows are totally amazing, and I'd definitely recommend checking them out!

I have been a fan of StarKid since almost their beginning and I still love them with my whole being! I'm glad you finally became a member of Team StarKid. All of their shows are great and I recommend watching all of them in chronological order, but I have to say my favorites are Holy Musical Batman and The Guy Who Didn't Like Musicals!

What's amazing to me is that Darren debuted Not Alone in this fun nerdy little college musical and like three years later he performed it again, not as parody, with a full choir and orchestra, at Barack Obama's inauguration ceremony. How crazy is that? Obama has heard a Starkid song. And he probably doesn't even know it was in this show.
What's amazing to me is that DC wrote that song when he was 15! So much talent, and I'm happy he's shared it with the world.

I watched Starkid as a teenager, totally obsessed, then cut to 2019 I'm now an actor doing a show at the Edinburgh Fringe and sharing a dressing room with A J Holmes. SUPER lovely and his show was outstanding! Really hope he remembers his StarKid roots and films his show one day.

I am definitely recommending the guy who didn’t like musicals to you- imo it’s the perfect starkid “beginners show”. It’s basically perfect imo
I think I'd argue Twisted would be best... It's not quite as "out there" as tgwdlm, it has an easy plotline, and the video quality is still good!
Carly Sand see for me twisted is best watched when you can fully understand the subtext about it- with irl situation between Pixar and Disney back in the day. I was aware of the real life story before I watched, for me i imagine a lot of the jokes and to have an understanding of how truly perfect twisted you need to know this
Twisted is hands down their most Broadway quality musical. They even had workshops for it! It’s my favorite and has some of the best songs out of any of their musicals. It’s honestly SO underrated by the fandom. Would love to see you react to it!!
Twisted is my favorite Starkid musical! My sister has loved them for years and I'm so glad to see people appreciating them again.

The sound quality definitely improves as they go along. This one was I think just filmed for them to send to family, but later on they start filming/editing things professionally. Definitely watch the other musicals!

avpm and the sequels were my first starkid musicals (i watched them in one day in like 2015 or 16) and i'm sooo glad i joined this fandom. starkid will always have a special place in my heart
