- Sometimes it doesn't matter what rank vehicle your researching. Normally you would have massive penalties for researching vehicles that are a higher rank but in these special cases that doesn't happen. Gaijin is slowly filling these gaps in the tech trees so take advantage of them while you can.

best research tip... just buy a premium F104 or F5C that's available for that country (or its equivalent for the nations that didn't buy US export fighters) and spam bombs until you have the entire tech tree unlocked. takes a couple days.

I saw the title and guessed it was gonna be using warbond shop test drives to count the tested vehicle towards your vehicles to unlock the next rank, is that possible??
I mean the limited time access to premium vehicles does count towards your regular RP so I guess you could do that but I wouldn't waste warbonds on it.

It matters much more for air rb where you don't really need lineups and can skip large chunks of the tree.

Gigachad research tip: Only play BR1 and throw a cheap talisman on your favourite and strongest BR1 or reserve vehicle and grind the whole tree. This is for a few reasons, and it works well.
1. You can upgrade your crew for that one slot quickly, and you can master the vehicle to do really well.
2. The vehicle will be spaded (maxed upgrades) quickly and likely have either a very light repair cost, or none at all if it is a reserve.
2. You quickly learn the maps (especially for tanks) and all the enemy vehciles between BR1 and 2, so you become a beast and pop off, earning even more research and cash.
3. The research cap for a BR1 or reserve vehicle researching a tier 5 BR 8.0 vehicle is about the same as a tier 4 BR 6.0 vehicle which is NUTS. This is a real example. I researched the entire Maus tank using the Pz.III E reserve with a talisman. (No repair costs so also made a tonne of profit). Because it earned me the same, and often more, than using Tigers or Panthers.
4. BR1 matches are fast and fun. Me and my mates try and break our record of 32 kills between 3 of us, and 23 kills individually. Going 22 kills to 0 deaths is the most fun the game has to offer.
So with a talisman, using BR1 vehicles you can research the whole tree, master the game, and have fun. :)

@@EternalFlameProductions Nope. You just get a penatly, but the thing is, the tier 1 penalty is so similar to a tier 4 penalty (even for researching as close as a tier 5) that you may as well play tier 1.
Reserves have no research cost. Cheap talismans. Only a few easy to learn maps. Easy to learn enemy tanks. Fair battle ratings. Quick and fun matches. Etc etc. It is not only fun playing reserves, it is actually profitable.
@@thirsty7281 it doesnt seem logical. Tier 1 vehicle has very low rp multiplier. With talisman it will be 2x and still lower than tier 4 non talismanned vehicle. (goal is researching tier 5 vehicle)
@@EternalFlameProductions It doesn't seem logical but it just works. You missed a few things. If you play reserve tanks you can improve your crew and learn the maps and tanks so you become a beast and can get double digit kills games consistently. At tier 4 it is much harder to get perfect games consistently, there are more maps, more uptiers that hurt, more expensive talismans, less players, more experienced opponents, expensive repair costs, etc. Because tier 1 is easier you do better and thus make more than higher BR. Plus I tested it and even on a great game at tier 4 you only make 100 to 200 more RP than a decent game at tier 1. It's all numbers and maths but it works out that tier 1 is better!
@@EternalFlameProductions I played a number of games to further test it. I can average around 500 research points per match (with no boosters) for researching a tier 5 tank. 1st place. No deaths. Usually over 10 kills. Consistently. That's 500 research per quick fun match to spend anywhere you want at tier 5. Even more for lower tiered tanks to research. :)
The missile knows where it is at all times. It knows this because it knows where it isn't. By subtracting where it is from where it isn't, or where it isn't from where it is (whichever is greater), it obtains a difference, or deviation. The guidance subsystem uses deviations to generate corrective commands to drive the missile from a position where it is to a position where it isn't, and arriving at a position where it wasn't, it now is. Consequently, the position where it is, is now the position that it wasn't, and it follows that the position that it was, is now the position that it isn't.
I super don't think about the penalties. I'll be playing at 2.7 working towards a 6.0 vehicle if I want it, no regrets.
yep, me too.. although I do play anything between 3.0 to 6.3.. as long as I enjoy the grind, I don't mind it being that long.. f*ck the penalties..

best research tip: don't worry about the penalties.. I grinded the LEO 2 A6 using the 5.3 vehicles.. I don't enjoy playing modern so I just play the vehicles that I like the most, usually from rank 5.0 to 6.3.. it took longer but I don't mind the grind as long as I enjoy it..
Super true, how much research did you earn per match at 5.3? (Arcade or realistic?)
Playing arcade I unlocked the Maus (Tier 5, BR8) using the German Pz.III E reserve (with a talisman) I'd earn between 400 to 800 research a match depending on how well I did, which was 1st place about 9/10 matches. BR1 is so much fun, pure chaos, and you can master it easily.

Long time player and "get out there and grind" made me a little sick. My grinding days are over. Along with paying to get vehicles I can't grind since I work on the road. The game tries soooo hard to be everyone's only game.
Can you do a video on how to use CCRP? Some planes have it and it’s really weird to use. Also, thanks for the tip

if you hover over a vehicle on the tech tree you will notice it says what ranks its effects at the bottom of the stats card
It literally tells you this on stat cards. Either way current top comment is true, simply buying a decent top tier jet i.e. F104, F5C, A-10, Su-25K, Mig-21S, mig-23ML and so on and so on, is the single most rewarding and quickest way to grind ALL tiers.
When the gaijin birthday event was going on i bought the Mig-21S and mostly played RB and Sim, and within that event cleared out maybe 60% of the USSR plane tech tree.
You can also get research bonuses by getting modifications on vehicles
Yea this was a big bummer for me when I realised how much rp I was losing out on using the f2g to grind rank 6
im more focued on the way you use CCRP, just use bomb series instead of individual drop, skips the need to dive, or use secondary weapon ripple quantity

best tip for u can give to the Players rn is telling them to stand up for gaijin and inform them how greedy they are and what they wanna do in the upcoming future... we need to let everyone who care about this game to unite...

@@wg4112 Sigh. Yes you most certainly can. I researched the Maus using tier 1 reserves (no premiums but 1 had a talisman). The drop off from tier 1 (with a decent match) to tier 5 is about the same as tier 3 or 4 (with an average or decent match) to tier 5.

Yes, those penalties do exist *except* in these specific circumstances.

Also useful for Japan. F-2 to F-16(2 RANK DIFFERENCE). F2 is little tough to play though
If you hover over a vehicle in the tech tree it will literally tell you what vehicles give you a research bonus, not very difficult to figure out
But some people may have been confused if the bonus applied is also hit with the penalty, like in the examples he provided. He answered a question that some people may have.

Research penalties suck. The majority of the tanks I researched were from the M4a2 75. Then that economy change hit.
Dont get grinding and stop playing the game. Gaijin doesnt care about the people. They only want money which is why they slap the coomunity in the face with every update.

in the past i remember using the vehicle before the thing you are researching gives 100% so thats why i cant find it now,, so its now a meager 10% lol
If you set continuous mode for secondary you don't have to re target point.

I’m almost always researching 2 ranks above my current line up. Just because I played so bad, I don’t have the SL to buy more tanks 😂😂😂
Also if you use a premium there is no penalty
There is if the premium is 2 or more ranks lower than what you’re researching, but you’re right there’s no penalty for all ranks below the premium

But playing arcade gets you better vehicle research as well because arcade you get 30% but realistic you only get 10%

I've been playing the T80UM2 and was baffled how slow the research is going. Then I looked and was only getting 9 xp for the tanks.
It's honestly a dumb mechanic

I'm done with the grind for this game. I also can't get myself to justify spending any more money on it. Since I made the switch from console to pc I already have access to many of those vehicles if not all in different games with mods for free. Now it just seems silly to me.

I hate when people see this game as mindless grind. You always want more stuff, more vehicles you'll use for at MOST five matches or so. Goddamn just enjoy the game. I do it and I don't even notice how much progress I've made until I look at the tech tree.

You have to remember that most people won't put more than a few hundred hours in it. The average person can only play 2 hours a day and plays more than just War thunder.

Penalties go both ways. You can research 1 rank up and down without any penalties.

This trick doesn't work when going down in tiers, only when you're following the arrow up.

If that's your first tech tree then it's going to take a while. Focus on learning the game then worry about researching new things.

F84f is probably one of the 5 worst jets in the game, don't understand people who play with it..
Before the F-84F got moved up to rank 6 it was one of the best rp grinders of rank 5.

What green line in Arcade battles?
That verticle green line at least on my end seems to only appear in arcade battles to help with dumb bombs. Guided i hve the keybindjngs and stuff down but that particular “HUD” element i have no idea how to read

The F-84F is a great grinder. That is until it gets bumped up to rank 6 in the next update and loses its air spawn.
I spaded all of the Italian f104's to get the tornado. Why? I hate myself. And i also wanted to spade as many planes as i could.
Hey would it be alright if I get a premium jet, currently f2p rank 2 and would like one of the top premium jets, would it be an alright jump to use and help with grinding?
You don't have to get permission from me to get a high tier jet. What jet are you looking at getting? Your experience with one is going to be completely different than your experience with another. I usually advise against buy high tier jets without high tier experience because high tier is basically a different game compared to low tier. You will get taken out by things that you didn't see coming and you will go up against things that you won't know how to counter. This leads some to regret their purchase and quit the game. But if you're willing to push through and learn high tier jets then it would be a decently quick way to grind out a tech tree. Just remember that you can take a break and go back to low tier whenever you're feeling burnt out in high tier. Also I would normally recommend waiting for a sale to get a high tier jet for half off but the next sale is in 3 months so it's up to you if you want to wait.

It is true. In the video you see that I get no penalty and a 10% bonus while researching the rank 8 Italian Tornado while in the rank 5 F-84F.

so what if im researching a rank V tank and im using 2 rank IV tanks one rank III and a plane thats rank II?
Each vehicle has it's own research calculator. You'd only be getting full research from the 2 rank 4 tanks. The others would have massive penalties. I already have a short covering research penalties.

Yeah, it would work. But you have to own enough rank 7 jets to be able to research rank 8.
