I actually do have a point because when We talk about air brakes on Trains. for example the Automatic Brake is typically used when stopping a train. assisting Dynamic brakes. as well as using the Automatic Brake to slow down the train sometimes without using the Dynamic brake. As for the Independent Brake. the Engineer will typicaly use it when He's running a light locomotive It's also used if You're operating a consist of multiple locomotives with no cars Coupled up to Them. then He can still use the Independent Brake It's also used when shunting cars around a yard including when holding a stopped train on a grade. And I was only telling Him that because when the locomotive stopped to move onto the siding track it was still necessarily for Him to apply the Independent Brake Because at that point His Locomotive was still running light
