I don't know the history of the doctrine of free will. I do know it is Catholic and certainly it promotes being bound into their system of confession. absolution and penance. The doctrine of predestination conforms with Christian truth and I accept it. The sheep know the shepherd and that's sufficient for my understanding. I was a member of a traditional catholic church headed by Marcel Lefebvre who was excommunicated from Rome. It may not seem relevant to the vast majority but it was the number one news item of the day reported by Dan Rather. Mel Gibson is a member. The Passion Of Christ was well received by the Christian community although in my mind the depiction albeit true, it is Catholic again and meant to unite us to the suffering of Christ as if that is possible or even desired by God. It has Jesuit ideology. I tell people we are already in a one world religion system and it is Catholic. It is Jesuit. I love the teachings of the Lord Jesus. Shalom.
