Thank you so much for the series! I’m so inspired. You’ve opened a new world of Butoh for me! Can’t wait to participate in Butoh retreat somewhere)

Thanks for the series, I’ve recently developed an interest in Butoh and I’ve found these videos very informative. My favorite episode is “About Botoh 5. Aesthetics of Butoh.” You explain a lot. Anyway good stuff! Thanks for the work!

Thanks so much. Glad you have enjoyed the series, I worked hard on the videos, and it's good to know people are finding value in them. If I were to do more videos on butoh, is there anything you feel I have left out or would like to know more about?

@@BobDeNatale0 I’d like to see content about various teachers you worked with, their training basics, styles and philosophies. how to’s would be interesting as well. Let’s see it. Especially comparisons of various training styles with examples. I”ve see some how to Butoh videos online. They run from super cringe to over produced advertisements. Maybe videos about your workshop and performance experiences. Oh and one about various Butoh books/ resources currently out there, especially the Japanese photography books. Maybe interviews with working Butoh or Butoh influenced artists and performers. Stuff like that. I’m just brainstorming. Thanks for asking!

@@paax01 Those are all good ideas. Thanks. I've been pondering how to present training videos that opens door rather than limits what butoh can be. Also, maybe doing a look at some of the butoh books in my collection. I have some rare ones that people might interested in seeing.

Thank you for this intimate opening Bob. While you were talking, Kazuo was also exposing the heart of Butoh silently. I remember one of my first performances in UK. It took place in the evening of the football game between England and Argentina. Our audience was mostly women with their kids. For the whole time of the performance, about an hour, there was absolute silence. I think that children can teach us how to watch Butoh
