Vice-Admiral Koda Yoji is a great guest, and a strong communicator! 3 CSG's around the 'neighborhood' is a big deal. Typically, there is only one forward deployed CSG, which is stationed in Japan. Each CSG is also partnered with submarine deployments. The CCP has forced this, and for Japan to militarize, move assets to protect its sovereign territories, and to grow defense partnerships. The Izumo and the Kaga, Japanese helicopter carriers have just completed a round of tests in Hawaii on their up-graded decks as an effective platform for their new F35s.

*International laws* are very clear on the South China Sea:
    - parts of it belong to some ASEAN countries, including Philippines 🇵🇭,
    - the rest of it is the international water,
    - no part of it belongs to China🇨🇳 or Taiwan🇹🇼.

it is amazing how most world leaders and countries (at least those that are democratic) speaks or tries their best to speak English, a non native language to them or their countries. US should put more value into these leaders and how they accomodate US, UK, and the English language is being spoken or mastered around the world. It is difficult and not natural for non-Americans to speak English... but we try our best. I do hope one day that we can have a universal platform or technology that seamlessly translates any languages to another.. so we wouldnt be having a nosebleed from trying to speak English articulately. I believe speaking in your own language makes the person more comfortable in speaking and not nervous at all, being able to relay the message with more sense and effectively. Please, please US create a platform or tech that will do this for all countries and leaders around the world.. so that we are not struggling continually on a daily basis, it is torture to us to speak English, not our primary language. The current earphone technology and interpreters just doesnt cut it. We need way better ones.

Three US carriers in the East Asia are deployed on rotation to patrol the China Seas. One at Yokosuka US Naval Base in Japan and other at Subic US Naval Base in the Philippines, and the third at sea on the way north or south to each of the port for replenishment (non-nuclear powered carriers of Japan and South Korea would need diesel fuel, and all fighter jets need refuelling). In times of increased military tension, a second carrier would be put out at sea. And perhaps the US would move a fourth carrier into the region.
Don’t forget, Japan has two carriers in service, and recently Japan has asked for access to Subic for its carrier. And South Korea has one. So there are in total 6 carriers in service in the region belonging to the US and its allies.
Then there is the idea of interoperability, i.e. in times of crisis, i.e. conflict, war and confrontation, all the carriers would be placed under one unified command, i.e. that of the US, and fighter jets belonging to any one of the countries would be able to land and take off from the carrier of the allied country, and be reloaded with standardized US-made weapons. All the carriers 16:32 of country will be equipped with F35 fighter jets. And the China Seas would be swarmed north to south with waves of supersonic F35 fighter jets, less than one hour from each other.
Currently China has only two non-nuclear powered carriers, and they necessarily hug the coastal defence, in part for the need for refuelling. A third also non-nuclear powered carrier is due to be put into service. And China is now in a race to put two nuclear powered carriers into service in another 3 years. Are the two or three China’s carrier now in service sufficient to meet the combine of US and allied naval and air forces poised fronting China?

NATO has 3 nuclear powers. The U.S, U.K and France. But their combined nuclear arsenal is not much scary to think.

Nope, because in a 2017 Pentagon war games simulation where the US sent its carriers to the region - the US lost ALL their carriers in the scenario, and lost the war against China.

Those guys are just going to go into overcapacity mode with their military hardware. Those 3 carriers aren't going to scare them. Heck, 11 carriers aren't going to deter them.

In a way you are right, you cant fix stupid n thats what ccp has going for them and that benefits the US n its allies. Stupidity is predictable thats why the build up, we dont expect ccp to be afraid we expect them to be stupid!

China has lots and lots of anti-ship hypersonic missiles with ranges up to 4000km. How can US air-craft carriers launch its fighters without being sunk first? Not to mention the Chinese very powerful modern warships, submarines and fighter aircrafts? Even if the US were to launch all its aircraft carriers, it will also not be able to win this fight in China's backyard. Unlike in the open sea where the USN will prevail, in this region China has all the advantages....And as usual, American so called military experts will talk themselves into believing the USN is over-whelming more powerful than PLAN and victory is assured. Just like what is happening in Ukraine...

The correct question to ponder is.... Is USA willing to sacrifice 3 carrier battle groups to help Taiwan? I think the answer is NO!!! The 2nd question is "Is Japan willing to sacrifice all their bases for Taiwan? I think the answer is NO. As for SKorea...Heck,, they got a nuclear neighbour to worry about... the answer is a definite NO. As for Phillppines...they better keep their mouth shut.and their arms folded.or they may lose Palawan....
