    Good idea to check with Sika because there is a proper procedure that is recommended using primers and a recommended thickness of material. As a long distance truck driver and traveller I've seen plenty of panels laying on the road. A manslaughter charge is not the go if its incorrectly fitted. Cheers mate love your posts👍

    Any issues with the solar panel getting to hot? I was wondering about driling holes in the aluminum mounting brackets for more ventilation.

    Im about to do the same with ours. Has that sikaflex 11fc stood up to the job, i was looking at this compared to the 252 which is more expensive but the 11fc says its good adhesive aswell?

    Hi Nick , just wondering why you didn’t just wire the new panel to the existing panels on the roof, have seen this done before. Cheers Mark.

      Hi mark
      Thanks for watching. My reasoning for running seperate wire was I didn’t know the rating of the existing wire and/or if it could handle the extra amps going through it. So I was just being on the safe side running new wire. Trust me that option would have been a hell of a lot easier!

    Could I ask what you used to fix down the angle. Was it a particular Sikaflex ???

    • @elnick.adventures
      @elnick.adventures  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hey sure it was sikaflex 11FC it’s a sealant and a glue 👍

    Hey Nick, thanks for the great info. Just wanting to confirm, was it just Sika holding the angles onto the roof?

    • @elnick.adventures
      @elnick.adventures  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey Robert yes we used the 11FC product for glue and sealant thanks for watching 👍

    What was the stuff you sprayed on the cable entry housing and angle?

    • @elnick.adventures
      @elnick.adventures  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Just soapy water to smooth the sikaflex out. It stops you from getting the glue everywhere and all over you👍 thanks for watching.
