I played the PAL version (I'm Italian) and at some point it even starts switching languages. The language switching is the first undeniable sign that something's starting to go wrong.
@@neog8029 Yeah, PAL is the best way. You'd be just minding your own business in a level and all of a sudden the NPC starts speaking in German, so you hit start to go back to the main menu, but the game refuses to pause.
For those who don't know, the anti-piracy wasn't designed to be mean with the player, it was to delay the hackers At that time, hackers cracked a game usually on the same day or day after release and start selling the black label versions. Usually they only tested if the game was working playing just a couple of minutes, so the intention was to make it "appear" that the game was cracked sucessfully. In the end, the anti piracy worked, I might be mistaken but it took months for them to proper crack the system.
On me it also had the effect of being subtle enough to make me love the game, and once I understood why the game was acting weirdly (a friend of mine constantly gifted me pirated games), I begged my family to buy me an actual original copy.
So as a kid I used Christmas money to buy this game from a pawnshop. I remember it was super glitchy, I couldn’t play anything in midnight mountain, etc. I remember being so angry with it as a kid (I don’t remember the Zoe dialogue though). But we broke that game back out after learning about these glitches that were in pirated copies and low and behold it was a pirated one, we got the Zoe dialogue and now it all makes sense why it happened as a kid 😂😂😂
Having played this version for all my childhood, it's pretty playable, just a bit annoying (especially Help Bobby Get Home disappearing every 2 minutes). It's only impossible because of the Sorceress reset. It's kinda funny how Dayo was so afraid of the game, that the cheats he enabled caused more problems than the game itself.
I have memories of the rocket from Evening Lake giving me an option for Sorceress' Lair but then sending me back to Buzz's Dungeon and after the boss fight (which then replaces the Sorceress completely so that I can never fight her) it takes me to Super Bonus World, where I can't do much since I'm supposed to be here only when I have all the gems and eggs from the last levels that the anti-piracy glitch made me skip
The same happened to me, but it took me to the door to fight the Sorceress. But on the inside, i could not open the door because it required 100 eggs but as soon as I entered the portal to fight her my save was restarted.
@@Ardkun00 (Un)luckily for me, I always had more than 100 eggs at that point, but the door to the Sorceress would take me to the first boss and portals in Evening Lake would take me back to other levels from Sunrise Spring if I had that glitch on. And Seashell Shore was unplayable because the underwater section wouldn't work properly, treating the level as if Spyro was on ground and leaving him unable to move for some reason
I had a hacked version, but I didn't know that at the time. We finished the game by 117% without talking to Zoe, but when I decided to replay the battle with the Sorceress, I was thrown into Sunrise Springs, overwriting my save, and only after that I found a dialogue with Zoe. It was weird.
With anti-piracy after Spike you can have only green Sparks (If he ate a butterfly he was disappear). Most traumatic experience (after Sorcores of course).

Hey Dayo, I wanna ask you something, this run was really nice, I watched live, but how about playing anti-piracy spyro 3 full without cheats? There are a lot of things you haven't experience on this run like: - Sparks being only green after the 3rd hw - Midnight bug where all the portals became sunrise spring levels - Midnight bug where moneybags appear before Sorceress - Rocket bug where you go to Super Bonus round after beating Scorch instead of Midnight There are a lot more, and I know that you have seen a lot, but would be nice a run where you try to complete everything and saw all those things without cheating, trust me, it's way cooler than using cheats, I played this version a lot when I was kid and I know you'll have a great time playing that way

you can beat it without cheats you just gotta use speed run strats. the thing that kills you is when doors wrong warp you bc that can softlock your game.
I still remember as a kid, playing through this entire game, believing nothing could go wrong. Only for the last part to happen, and all my progress gone lol. Though, I also remember that one time, the special zone was open randomly, so I did get to experience that at least lol.

At the sorceress battle, isn't it just a 25 secs timer? I mean, Its just that when you kill the sorceress very fast, the timer just reaches zero after she dies, but before the egg animation. I don't think there is a failsafe, just a low enough timer that it's impossible to end the last battle and see the egg.
Is anti-cheating in Spyro 3 the original ideas of haunted video games Creepypasta. completely empty, soundtrack is off, characters not working right and the phenomenon of focuses on the player

I have different hacked paradox version. One I can activate Zoe but only if I enable the cheats included in the cracktro. And the other version enables different glitches. Like Spyro gets have can't jump up platforms. I can only jump up them if I do the jump where you turn while you jump. And to do normal jumps again I have to turn of the game and re plug the controller. EDIT: I just got the right paradox patch version for my Spyro (PAL version) to enable Zoe without activate the cheats in the cracktro.

Yes, this is an effect exclusive to PAL copies. It's a pretty funny effect, so I guess PAL is optimal if you want the "full" anti-pirqcy experience.

I played burned discs but I guess my spyro 3 copies where the patched ones
I was gifted a patched copy that at one point got scratched so bad that the anti-piracy got triggered anyway.
