@@3brothasandashotamilkyeah, The Batman had some good points but it had a lot of flaws that I couldn’t get over, but that is just me. The cowl I didn’t care for, the ears in it looked like spikes because the were way to thin/ small, he had way to much of his lower face exposed. The Batmobile looked more like something that either The Punisher, John Wick, or Fast and Furious would drive, and that’s fine and dandy, but this is a Batman movie. The Riddler seemed like a Zodiac ripoff mixed with a Antifa member vibe crying about how he thought the world was so unfair to him, Catwoman came off narcissistic a girl with daddy issues, The Jeffrey Wright is a great actor but I didn’t like the direction that they made him portray this roll -(Why does he always sound like he is whispering) he seemed like he was just portraying his character Felix Lighter from the James Bond films, and I know he could have done better and is capable of so much more, he should have tried to adopt more of the characteristics or mannerisms of the commissioner Gordon from Batman the animated series. And Alfred I think was just missed cast, once again don’t get me wrong Andy Serkis, great actor, but this was the wrong roll for him; other actors who have played Alfred seemed more natural, he came across as an actor trying to act/portray Alfred and it wasn’t a fit. Collin Farrell as the Penguin, I could take it or leave he didn’t do a bad job, but I wasn’t blow away either, with how much makeup they had on him they could have cast a big list of actors to play that roll. As far as the good things for the movie, the graphics were great. Music was amazing. Cinematography was beautifully done. You both were correct on how they did the rain and kind of gave it a crow feel that was genius. The action scenes were good and intense, but that was about it, so there is my rant.
While they have improved on the costume and written stronger stories in recent years, Batman 89 is still my top pick. The Dark Knight and The Batman are fantastic stories. I really enjoyed Affleck's portrayal, but I was disappointed by the movie overall.
I absolutely agree!!! I think the top three are Batman 89, The Dark Knight, and The Batman. The order may change for some, but that’s the top in my opinion. I also agree about Affleck. Great Batman, in a not great movie.
