Amartya Sen is really a brilliant thinker who understands that one must always question the world that we live in. His breadth as well as depth of understanding of what i call just knowledge (instead of Economics or Politics etc) is truly mind-blowing and has given him the tools to engage with serious problems that affect the poor of this earth and propose useful and insightful solutions to their problems. Truly amamzing

Dr. Amarty Sen is referred across the World as the Conscience of Economics .
One of my metarnal Aunty, studying Physics in the same batch in Presidency College under Calcutta University, told me oneday that throughout his student life whether in School / College/ University in every Examination he stood First always and the depth & spread of his knowledge is amazing which includes his mastery in different subjects eg Economics , Mathematics, Phylosophy, History & Culture, Bengali, Sanskrit , English Literature and so on.

Very interesting Conversation with Dr. Sen. He comes across as a vibrant political and economic activist who will address the problems of world poor, including a billion poor living in India... One nice thing about Dr. Sen is he remained as an Indian citizen while roaming around the world for higher education and for high paying prestigious jobs.. He is the only living Nobel Laureate from India... Dr. R. Venkataraman (Nobel prize winner for Biochemistry) is Naturalized US Citizen.

Visva Bharati is the only unique institution that exists in India. And underrated too. The Government of India must spend more money to modernize its infrastructure.

Over 90 honorary awards commonly doctorates (2024). Is it correct to call them PhDs when they’re explicitly distinct?

In real life he would be a full of attitude doing educational dramas. He said modi is not a good pri minister and BJP Government policies will work against Indian economy, in fact Indian economy took over England after modi Government. These type of people can only do criticism seating on TV shows. A part of that can’t do anything practically. I heard his speech against Hindu rastra. I will suggest him to go to Bangladesh and come back ,then he will come to know what should be a points of priority.

I don't really think that the utilitarian model breaks down as he says when we consider people's lowered expectations and the joy they experience from a small relief from agony. I think that the utilitarian perspective can be expanded to not only judge the status of an outcome for an individual based on his/her desires/satisfaction, but rather to judge those outcomes from universal expectations. So a scrap of food is better than no food, but how does that compare with our situation...

Amartya Sen should not speak about Bengali Culture and About the Hinduism . A man living with Third wife in USA and have no direct contributions economic and education should shy his mouth. He is a person who illegally occupied Vishabharati University land and enjoys Free Air Flight 21 times within 5 years for being Awarded Bharat Ratna . Most of the Awardees not even accepted free Air travel for once including Tendulakar! He is a die hard Trinamool Congress Goons. Most of the Indians hate for his illegal activities.
