    With a gratitude to wire for such initiatives and programs , a small piece of suggestion that even now in india a huge population is unable to understand english and so a humble request to put HINDI subtitles too so that all the population who have blind faith in some parties could understand and take the message sent by these remarkable efforts by wire !!!

      No dude, it's a North Indian, Hindu-centric imposition. Just because we accepted Hindi blindly, now we are forced to accept Hindutwa blindly. The masses may have Hindi as their language or Hinduism and casteism as their practice. That should not be imposed on others.

      @@anshuecon I do agree with you to am extent but that is just going too far imho. I mean that is the reason why we except English as a language don't we , for its reach but in this cade the person wants doesn't speak that language so they propose an alternative that is widely accepted and everyone goes on with their day but this thinking that "NO Why only hindi other languages too " doesn't take you anywhere.
      We don't have to hate( take that lightly) on something because someone else uses it for their wrong doings.
      I would be open to you views... from one Indian to another ..peace

      Dekh bhai, Hindi sabko aati hai. Par ham main aur Pakistan jaise failed states mein fark hona zaroori hai. Wahaan sabko Urdu hi bolna padega (one reason why Bangladesh wanted to get out of Pakistan) aur Islam hi maanna padega. Is nark mein hum 2014 se doobe hain, par nikalne ka tareeka ye hai ki hum unki moorkhta se apne liye kuchh sabak lein.

      He is a polymath and renaissance figure. He has authority on many topics . Read his book , An Argumentative Indian ,published by penguin .Anyway there is hardly any good Indian channel which could held such topics .

      He has already written extensively. If you read his works it wouldn't be difficult for you to imagine him on channels.
      Hope you must have read his "Idea of Justice".....throughout his career he has been mostly concerned with distributive justice through welfare economics. Its not monetary economics or trade economics. These are" flood economics"...and flood managers are there..Amartya Sen is about "after floods and due to floods".
      That is why he was never considered for RBI governorship kind of assignments.
      You may read his Rationality and Freedom.
      Identity and violence
      Inequality reexamined
      Technology and unemployment
      Development as freedom...
      He was also awarded Skyte Prize in Political Sciences..

    nationalism in an era we are using chinese and american gadgets and services (phones, computers, google, facebook, twitter, whatsapp) riding japanese, european and south korean vehicles (bikes, cars) etc meanwhile targeting our own citizens dalits, tribals, muslims, this has to be the golden age of nationalism.

      Unless the western world certifies someone among to be an intellectual, we hardly celebrate them thru our own understanding.
      And when we look at certain names in the list of noble laureates we clearly understand the motives. Very similar to the list of Bharat Ratna, that trend of course has changed now and only the deserving are being decorated and honoured.

    Amartya Sen only talks about poverty in India no talks about the wealth gap between Asia and western Europe. When will there be equality in the world does Amartya sen have a solution for that!!!!
