What raises my hackles a bit is how many times he's mentioned topics that scholars have known & discussed for years. But they're not bringing this stuff to the public, as I guess that is below those high brow PhD's to humble themselves teaching the hungry masses. That alone separates Heiser from the pack, as the east is from the west.

I focus here with Mike on the Deuteronomy 32 Worldview because it is the fundamental idea that can lead you into all the other topics regarding the metanarrative of the biblical drama. Right, so at least that is clearer, now.
If we could now hear why Satan had to keep powers, know good from evil seemingly more clearly than Adam and Eve ever did, and ever get near this world - or revisit heaven, to discuss Job - then that would be much appreciated.
Also, has Zephaniah 1 to 3 been reframed, and how does it align with Matthew 7:14?

    • @rickhuntling7338
      @rickhuntling7338 2 ปีที่แล้ว

@chris sonofpear, Adam wasn't suppose to know evil, and Job wasn't righteous. Job was a works based belief, do A,B & C and I will be blessed. LOL he even sacrificed for his kids "just in case". How did that work out?
Zephaniah has no ties to Mat. 7:14. The gate is closed by the time Zephaniah's prophesies are being fulfilled. The Day of the LORD is being fulfilled while we are hidden in many mansions; Zeph. 2:3, Jn. 14:1-4, Isa. 26:20, Rev. 3:10. The men being consumed are the end time beast aka Nations of Islam.

    • @chrissonofpear1384

@@rickhuntling7338 Then, what, pray tell, was he SUPPOSED to know?
To make 'choices' for billions not yet born, who'd probably not exist, if he'd not left the garden?
Or to tell good from evil things? And why fear death if it's neither good or bad?
And some rabbis and priests say Job was righteous, and some do not.
Also, WHY SPOIL the ending? Who is being revenged against, and how many, in Zephaniah?
So whole nations are on that list? Like in Esther?
And yes, how did it work out? Why the smeg does it MATTER WHAT Satan thought of Job, to begin with?
He was an irrational, suicidally prideful, disloyal rebel angel.
If his opinion does not count as utterly irrelevant and unreliable, then what possibly could count?
Augustine's garbage view of 1 Corinthians 10, maybe?
And who is hidden in many mansions, and how many?
Mansions are implied to be POST judgement, not pre.
And many say it's not Islam - it's Catholicism, or a future one world faith.
Heck, one could even go the Preterist root.
Nero Caesar - fits 666 and 616 numerologies, equally.
Also, pardon me if the idea of treating Job's loved ones like props, sickens me.
As much as 1 Samuel 6:19 does.

Eve ate and asked her husband to eat. The conundrum Adam was in, was to eat, cleave and die with his wife as commanded or not eat and live in paradise alone for ever. Like CHRIST the second Adam HE chose to take the brides sin on HIM self and die for HIS bride.
Orginal sin was not the eating of the tree, it was the believing the liar over the LORD. Our salvation is believing the LORD and not the LIAR. "Whosoever believeth in me shall never die and I will raise him on the last day".

@@rickhuntling7338 Without knowing things are bad, what good is fear? And what has it got to do with billions not yet born, who had no conscious choice in it?
And if He then hides from us all, by default - or due to us being born 'spiritually dead' - then how can we consciously 'suppress the truth' about Him?
And when did Eve and Adam ever know a liar, and murderer, and invertebrate matching those terms, even existed? They barely knew what deception was. We also know, from Genesis 3:22 that the fruit DID DO what the snake said it would.
      The Elohim, admit as much.
And why do any, but the snake, need to die at all? The snake's buddy Satan, got to revisit God, afterall.
Meanwhile, this second 'bride' is drastically hemmed in, perhaps, by Matthew 7:14, Romans 8:30, 9:12, and Jude 1:4. What of 'natural men' in the meantime?
Or many contented Jews? Oddly ill protected or looked out for, in say, Spain.

      @AldoSchmedack 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

@@rickhuntling7338 Yet Job was called righteous by God himself. And he is listed in the hall of faith. And it's not just Islam that is the issue, it is so called Christians and other "religions" too. It is a whole system. He told Job that he does as he pleases and in his own time. That he does things for our benefit even if it doesn't seem that way.
Job 1:8 Then the LORD said to Satan, “Have you considered My servant Job, that there is none like him on the earth, a blameless and upright (Hebrew is translated as RIGHTEOUS) man, one who fears God and shuns evil?”
And God himself said not to eat of it. Adam was not ready for it without instruction which he did not yet have. But it was done out of love according to Paul to save his wife through faith. SHE sinned:
Paul himself attaches the origin of sin in the world to Eve (1 Timothy 2:13-14).
Adam ate because he had faith that God had a plan to save them from the sin, else Eve would be cast out completely. He had both faith and love. he trusted God and loved his wife above even himself, all to save her. Same thing Jesus did actually.

Several Calvinists including a personal friend told me outright, Calvin didn't get everything right and their personal views have progressed further than what he concluded. I guess especially on Limited Atonement, where lots of his quotes don't seem to show he affirmed it.

Good example is NIV which it's own creators regret making and have said the rrors were deliberate and that verses were left out. Guess what those verses all have in common? They deny Jesus as God! Each one! Gotta get back to the original and go by God not man. I concur.

    Great question!! Peculiar answer 🤔
Team oriented? How do you figure?
Paul post conversion by his own admission didn't go join 'the team' in Jerusalem but went to Arabia!?
Apart from a brief confab 2 years later with ONLY peter and James held ZERO direct contact with ANY of the Jerusalem assembly for another 14 yrs!
In fact, there is no record of Paul 'teaming up' with the original apostle's that I can find in the writ..

Daniel got it from the angel involved in the conflict with the principalities of Persia. He's not writting "my book" he is writting down an inspired WORD of GOD. Heiser misrepresents biblical prophecies from the actual "messengers" and asigns it to Daniel's amagination, discounting the fact 100% of the prophecies came to fulfillment in their time.

He misrepresentswhere Daniel is getting his "ideals" when in fact it is from Gabriel in person then WORD YHWH himself; Dan. 10:16-21 .
Prince of Persia can be a man not a fallen angle. The fallen ones are in chains in darkness unless you have a book to sell, LOL.

@@TheLookingGlassAU Is he selling books? Yes or no? If yes, why does the truth offend you? Doesn't he have a book on demons? He said so in your video.
Do you see Son's of GOD in Deut.32:8? Did GOD devide his land between demons? NO. HE devide it amongst the 12 tribes and the context proves it.
You met the guy? Well you haven't met me yet I offend you for telling the truth.
Did Daniel get his Ideals from Deut.32 or from Gabriel? Your Dr. Heisser said Deut. 32.
How does he know the mind set of the authors in 1446 bc? Would that be a different GOD that changes to suit the times and audiences? I find him saying the prophets interjected their Own ideals and mind sets into the WORD offensive. JESUS said HE is the same yesterday, today and forever and HE has a book to sell.
If the Essenes is his source for the mind set it would be like using the BoM or WT magazine to ascribe 20th century beliefs of 1.7 billion believers. They retreated to live away from the mainstream mind set body for reasons. Does the word "CULT" fit the Essenes by definition?
The Church needs to "re-invent it's self" the "east needs to missionary the west"? LOL Anyone can say stuff and not give examples, nothing new under the sun. Obviously Heisser hasn't debated with Indonesians, Russian Orthodox or Chinese.
Millenials non-belief is from secular pressures not the Church. "Me too" "woke" "naturalism" are products of the world not the Church. Anyways, the Church is for worship and fellowship not debate where the learning HIS WORD comes to light. The HOLY SPIRIT teaches us all things not men like Heisser. Most of this is excellent, insightful, and well presented. For that, thank you!
I do have a concern, though. Mike - you say God "decides" and "makes a choice." I think such language in describing God is an error. God is omniscient and immutable, and all of His works are expressions of those attributes of God, among others. God does not have to think about anything and make up His mind.
