I think it's really important when doing a demo of something in a game that is meant to show the specific locations of things that it's always much more effective to do it in the dark
I prefer to keep my machine gun turrets on the outer most border facing inward towards my base. I have mine next to the entry points of the spawning enemies. I put a double reinforced wall around the turret except the front. Also I put a hunting tower next to them. This has proven far more effective in terms of the turrets having a broader area to hit. Also this creates a lot of crisscross fire. Another reason to do this is that the bots are less armored in the rear compared to the front. If any of you players feel like your turrets are doing jack squat and needs constant repairing. This method is worth a try. With my method I very rarely need to repair my turrets since the bots main targets are the core of the base that needs protected and the player(s) defending the base. Also to add since I have my hunters towers on the outer rim. Putting a tall lantern in one of the front corners makes it easier to spot and retreat to during combat at night. It also looks very nice as well.
I just built a base just like yours! Only I put a reverse low sandbag wall with a reverse wooden wall behind it instead of a door. More of a window really with a neat hallway so machines can't open the door. I've been thinking about the Kallebyviken island location although it's cluttered and small, the main south and east approaches are through the shallows with a deep lagoon in between. Don't know if machines will spawn on the small island to the west
On the easy run of the Kallebyviken base defense, I was anxious to see where the enemies would spawn and to my surprise, they came not from the land but almost straight out of the ocean! The resistance sniper tower pointed towards Savered Radar Mast, and sure enough, there was a shallow crossing straight across the marsh! The location I thought was an island turned out to be a bit of dry land in a swamp. I think I'll call it Camp Swampy...
More storage is always welcomed. My biggest issue is I need more uses for rubber and wood. Once the base is all built up, it's easy to accumulate wood faster than I can use. Every time I turn around I need to discard 3000 rubber because it accumulates quickly with very little usage. o_0
I would like to see grocery store shelf's and maybe a grocery store to base build,,, protect the grocery store from robots 🙌 and maybe a haunted house to base build and protect,,, fnix walls as base building objects,,, grocery store shelf's as walls,,, or maybe just open up one of the islands for players to build the entire island as there own,,, to many ideas just waiting to come to light
just got that mission done and about to hop on and build... now my ocd already saying go play space engineers instead hahah.. thanks im still goin to build a base, this game is alot of fun. 4 player co op too ;)
I really hope there is an update, there’s a uncomfortable vacuum around this game at moment, if you played since launch this is getting near break point I fear , so much potential here sadly the lack of any clear direction is really frustrating, hoping there is much needed time and care given to this could be game !
I made the weird mistake of not doing any base-building until I'd nearly finished the main campaign. As such, I was swimming in resources, and so built a ridiculous three-wall base (outer wall: short walls with pillboxes, secondary wall: tall walls with watch towers, inner wall right up close to the truck). Did the hard wave first, just to see how bad it was, and the machines didn't even get as far as the secondary wall, and the only repairs I had to do were in the pillboxes and cheap low walls. 😂 Shame I got absolutely nothing from it.
when entering build mode, there are 4 categories of building stuff. The 4 things you see are the low pylon, wooden gate, reinforced wall and low wood wall. This is the Walls category. The Machine Gun pillbox is in the Defense category. I'm not sure how to switch build categories on other platforms when in build mode but for me on my Playstion 4 Pro, it's the L2 and R2 buttons.
so what does the building DLC actually do if this is vanila content? does it give you buildings? or doess it unlock the buildings ( are the buildings locked with a dlc paywall )
There's a 50cal sniper tower and a health recharge station as well as a completely useless jukebox if you don't have background music. The tiny portable turrets are dlc too
I only been playing a week currently level 30, a few of my towns crash the game upon entering them. And as soon as I hit easy mode for this it crashes. Wich is sad cause this game is amazing. Also... im on xbox downloaded game from gamepass if that matters.
@@WIREDGAMING so im playing on an old Xbox 1, my girl has the white slim one and has started playing. I notice when we play together ill hard lag and she won't. So im honna try on her Xbox id imagine that's gonna fix it. It's just the difficulty with the base build stuff. Unsure of proper name only been playing for like a week. But fr 100% loving this game even with all the problems lol

They really should add a free upgrade to storage ,before they add the planed upgrading ourselves one..

I've never got any apparel items from the hard difficulty waves but I have gotten some experimental weapons here and there.

No You do not need any DLC's for the Machine Gun turrets.

Ohhh that's odd, I would post on the forums bud see if anyone has a fix, iv heard of occasionally crashing in towns but not when switching difficulty
