As always, a really informative and entertaining video and a great way to start my day. " Today is already amazing ". Looking forward to your Thailand adventure ... short version of a long story ... On Mar 14, 2020, against all warnings and logic, we boarded a near empty flight to Bangkok for a once in a lifetime 3 month long trip to S E Asia. Planned too long and looked forward to it way too much to be detered by a little "bug". On Mar 19 the Canadian government demanded all Canadians abroad return home before they shut the border. On Mar 20 we boarded the only return flight we could find and spent 36 hours travelling back to Toronto. 5 days in Bangkok instead of 3 months in Asia. Loved every minute and no regrets. Hoping to get back but in the meantime, I will live vicariously through you so thanks. " Let's keep going "
People have to remember they’re not paying $1000 a day I personally love Cuba
Absolutely! I couldn't do a week long vacation in my own city for the price I paid for a week in Cuba.
@@LoloDawn even if it’s just day trips and you’re staying at home. It can cost quite a bit. Just think about how much we spend going to the movies between the admission the extra costs, the popcorn, the Pop snacks.

Another good hotel. Been there myself before Covid. Great beach, an abundance of food.and drinks. Rooms clean, no water shortages, my fridge was replenished every day with beer, and a big plastic bottle of water. Once again, agree with your findings

As a travel agent back in the 80s and 90s have booked many happy clients to this resort, granted times have changed but it's still a nice resort.
'Buying' coins is exactly how I tip. I 'buy' $10 worth of loonies and tip with those. I buy the loonies back (usually from the same guys I end up tipping). It works great. I tried tipping with $5s on my last trip and found I ended up tipping LESS. So, I'm sticking to my coin method. I get to tip more freely, and the Cubans end up with more money. At the end of my trip, I buy ALL coins I can get my hands on to bring back home. Usually it's about $200-300.

Wooooooo i love to see Hotel Daiquiri i was there 2017 almost 7 years . I always going to cuba february or march when in Canada is really cold and snow for me Summer in Cuba is tooooo hot anyway thanks for the video and have a wonderful time in Thailand is expensive but you always find the way ......thanks and enjoy Thailand ❤❤❤🤩🤩🤩🤩

Hi Mike i really enjoy your video .I am going there in two weeks .Some reviews really are far fetched .i stayed in the ocean revera paradise in Mexico. Great resort,beach ahh not that great but resort was great 😊
Remember Go in with low expectations, Cuba has ups and downs, items come and Go!!!the Beach will be amazing, especially if you walk far to the Right of the Resort and keep walking!!!

@@Finding-Fish Hi Mike I read the reviews from trip advisor.I have been to Grand Memories in Varadero ,just amazing. As long as the food is ok and to the beach is good. I was at the Ocean Rivera in Mexico last Sept. Amazing resort bowling ice cream shop.. 5 star food.The beach not great but everything else was better than expected ...

When you go to an all inclusive in Cuba 🇨🇺 everything is included, free, beer, wine, food, sailing, paddle boards kayak.
Remember Cuba has ups and downs with food and the amounts!!!
When you see amazing deals in low season the food quality and amounts might be less…..

Love your videos. I’m heading to Varadero end of the month and wondering what you recommend for cell phone service off the resort.
You can buy a plan at the Airport in the Varadero airport
Personally I find US Dollars are far more appreciated than Canadian. One, Two's for tips. If you want an upgrade? Ten should help if they say no? okay keep the ten. LOL. Look tipping in Cuba is just a form of travel insurance really, just helps to make your stay far more pleasant. Mike Rocks
