Whoa I’ve been watching hair cutting tutorials all day and everyone keeps saying “if you make a mistake you’ll end up with horrendous hair” and then i hear her say “don’t worry, you’ll always look beautiful”, now that’s the kind of positivity we all need in our lives!!

Just wanted to add that I did this hair cut 5 days ago and yesterday I went to the salon to get my hair colored and when I told the Beautician that I had cut my own hair she started combing through it to see if she needed to fix anything and she couldn't find ANY problems with it. She told me it was a perfect haircut! Thank you again for sharing this!😊

@@bellycurious You are sooo right ! Most hairdressers would say that they have to fix it just for the purpose of having you think twice about doing it yourself and have you in the salon more often.

@@youtubewatcher6323 this is so true... Have you ever thought about how it's so cute when some salons are full of elderly women getting their hair trimmed and styled once or twice a week. Lol My grandma used to take me with her and that salon was full of regulars, typically older women. I think they go so often so they don't have to do their hair throughout the week. I'm sure they also go bc they get tons of compliments from the stylists and get to gossip. Gotta manage that perm lol I love old people, they're great in every way.

Ok, ladies and gentlemen....I was JUST about to head off to Toni & Guy tomorrow and drop about $100 to get my wavy, one-length hair layered and stress about whether the hairdresser was listening to me or not...then this. HOLY COW. This super simple technique she demonstrates above WORKS beautifully! I just did it and I'm so impressed. You can go as long or short as you want. I cut my "unicorn horn" right at the tip of my nose. Got perfectly layered hair just past my shoulders. NICE! I may never go to the hairdresser again. Thank you so much!!!

@@carlamartin7387 I just did my shoulder-length hair again and it's fine. This might be my third time and I noticed my hair was getting longer at the back. So I cut off a little more but it's still quite long at the back and I like it. I started out with chin-length sides and got braver and braver. This time I worked my way up from the lips to a cut at just below my nose. That's the important cut. The side length. Do a month or so at a time. Test it out. And I have separate bangs that I got from The Salon Guy videos. I'm saving a fortune and I know what I'm doing after watching the videos. Go slow.

You're adorable! My wife has gorgeous hair. Very long and thick. With covid she can't get to a salon and even her friend who owns a shop can't come do it for her due to the fact she has covid right now. So I found this for my wife and I"m going to encourage her to try it. She's whining and moaning about her hair (even though to me it's just undeniably beautiful) She keeps saying she needs to "freshen it up" So ok I"ll show this to her. Whether she tries it or not, this was fun for me to watch! You got personality for days! And of course lovely hair. Madone

Thank you for making something that seems like a foreign language a lot simpler! Your aunt + you are amazing. You should keep making awesome videos. I have thick, wavy hair with long layers and the last time I got it cut, the hairdresser decided to "thin" my hair, causing a frizzy mess. I kept putting off cutting it until 2 AM last night when I stumbled across your video. It still needs cleaned up and stacked on the ends a bit, but that's more on my bad technique cutting. I am so happy to lose all that damaged, heavy hair I kept putting up in messy buns and ponytails. I feel like I can finally start wearing it down again!

Thank YOU for watching! Yes! I am so glad that so many are able to benefit from watching this, especially because styling and cutting your own hair shouldn’t be scary. I want this community to be a place where you can “love you hair and love yourself” and part of that happens when you can take a deep breath and trust yourself. So glad you will be doing this (and so glad you will be getting the right scissors for it 😂)! Please let me know how it turns out and please share with anyone else you think it could help during this time. So many of us are reaching out to one another and it’s such a beautiful thing. Take care and God bless!
Ps. I uploaded an updated version of this video that goes into even more detail and shows off the back of the hair, if you want to check that out or share it as well 😊❤️

I'm VERY crazy about my hair and it's hard for me to find a stylist who I can trust to cut my hair correctly. I HAVE GONE 1 YEAR WITHOUT A HAIR CUT...until today. I will never go to a salon to get my hair cut again. I was skeptical watching this at first and then I was like well if I screw it up I go to the salon and look like a fool. Imma still go into the salon, but only to buy my products....lol. Gracias! Gracias! GRACIAS! to your Auntie too.

Thank you so much for this video! I've been contemplating cutting my own hair and I watched a few videos. I tried it today by cutting the face framing layers using another video but I totally messed it up. But then I watched your video...not only was your technique able to help me fix the mistake, but I also got the rest of my hair to look fab! Easy layers and easier than the other video I watched.

Was looking for advice on how to cut my own hair, low and behold after trawling through a mound of other videos,,,, all to complex,,, I finally found yours,, I am like most of the word in lock down and definitely want be able to get it cut for a while so brave or stupid I will be cutting it today,, am I nervous, hell yes but it will grow back eventually but as I'm not cutting the length it will be fine, wish me luck and thanks so much for your fabulous tutorial, no useless chatter or talking down to us, just this is how it's done
    Stay safe everyone x

Alexandra! So glad you found the video! An updated version (answering lots of questions and showing how the back looks after) is dropping today, if you want one that's even more slowed down and clear. We are certainly all going to need to come together and help one another in any way that we can during this time, so I am glad you will be able to take care of yourself while staying safe at home. But what I want to know is... if you took the plunge and did it yourself?? Would love to know how it turned out! Let me know! God Bless!

Your video was great! I have watched a lot of tutorials on cutting/layering your hair and I believe I like yours the best. You're pretty down to earth and went step by step so your audience could understand. I have to get a really good pair of scissors, but when I do...it's on! I'll definitely, come back and let you know how my curly/wavy hair looks when I cut it! Thank you so much for this video!

Wow. This chick seems super cool! She's so cute, and I don't say that in a weirdo way. She seems like she's just a very good person and that she's very comfortable with herself, and she doesn't act snobby or like she knows everything like some peeps on YT! So I like that! Thank you for the tutorial!!

    • @erikamarirumore2715
      @erikamarirumore2715  4 ปีที่แล้ว

Frances I totally get it. It can be VERY scary cutting your own hair. Especially when you have spent so much time getting it to be so long. But I promise you the whole point of this technique is that you get to keep your length as much as you want. And even when you do cut off a lot of dead ends you still have lots of hair left! Please check out the updated version of this video that I did recently. My hair is MUCH longer but I go through the same steps, answering more questions and showing off the finished look a lot better. Would love for you to check it out- I hope it would boost your confidence! You can do this!

Apparently, I'm breaking up with my hair salon until I want it short again. Mine was even longer and I wanted some length taken off. I did about 3 to 4 inches. It's still long and looks so much better. Excellent video.
