  • Just got my hands on the latest Tesla FSD update, version 12.3.6, and I'm taking you along for the ride! Buckle up for a 15-minute test drive where we'll explore the the interesting, and a few areas for improvement.
    Here's what we'll cover:
    First Impressions
    Timestamp
1:30 - I noticed that this version of 12.3.6 dwelt longer on this stop sign than it normally did compared to the previous version, I could be wrong in this case, but that is what I noticed.
3:00 - I noticed that this version of 12.3.6 did not fix this issue as I anticipated it would. This has been the case in previous versions as well, but I thought Tesla would fix it this time. However, it did maneuver at the last minute to get into the right lane.
9:00 - Needs Work: This version of 12.3.6 paused for the stop sign longer than I've seen before. With no traffic in any direction, a quicker stop would be ideal.
This update is all about progress, and we'll be discussing the exciting future of Tesla's self-driving technology. I will bring what FSD can do videos in my future videos.

I see the potential for a huge number of billable hour$. How does anyone operate essential vehicle controls on a touchscreen without taking one's eyes off the road? Makes me think about how large punitive damages awards could get for a driver distracted by their touchscreen and seriously injures or kills someone. The car's computer provides a wealth of evidence for a trial and can determine when and if it was in use while the vehicle was moving. Did I hear "Criminal Negligence" and jail time? Many insurance companies are thinking about adjusting their premium structure to account for this potential liability. Some countries are making moves to not allow the sale of vehicles with them. The manufacturers will just have to go back to knobs and buttons regardless of whether the shareholders like it or not. Same goes for the buyers of those cars.
Another potential liability minefield is with self driving cars. Who is liable when a driverless car crashes? Will there be any type of disclaimer on a purchase contract for a self driving vehicle that removes any liability for the manufacturer if a software failure results in an at fault accident? Semi-autonomous vehicles and autonomous test vehicles are involved in about twice as many accidents per million miles as human-driven vehicles There have been accidents from Tesla and Uber, which have resulted in fatal accidents on public roads. Research concludes that product liability will be the major issue in terms of insurance issues and the manufacturer should be held liable for product failure unless other evidence favors the manufacturer. I wonder how car makers will address this potential litigation minefield? I think they will strenuously oppose any attempt to make them liable for their products failures leaving their customers swinging in the wind. Another question not many will think to ask - How many lawyers will buy an autonomous vehicle? I won't.

You need to disengage and record a message to Tesla so they can fix that left turn... if you just let it do it's thing Tesla will not be aware of the issue and won't fix it... Thanks! 🙏 (also, if you can do it several times, Tesla will have more data to work with)

A very easy drive for a human, but FSD has problems:
    1:10 Very slow left turn
1:43 FSD misses the right turn
    4:00 FSD does a bad U-Turn, *again*
9:08 another very slow left turn

If DerekDavis watched more FSD vids, he knew that these fails all happen outside S.F. area. More training Data from outside S.F. will fix it.

@@kafiluz4317 No, I watched videos that were IN San Francisco, and FSD failed so many times. Many interventions were needed.
