It’s crazy that people talked how unrealistic Atlantropa was yet making a huge lake in the Congo is perfectly fine
Ppl wrote whole essays on the plausibility of Lake Congo. Also, its nice to have at least some fun, rule of cool stuff.

@@yaxsuo It wasn't about realism though but more about upcoming gameplay mechanics and content for nations. I personally don't mind having Atlantropa removed; I get good stories with the content updates, that's enough.

I think it’s more realistic that damming a river causes massive floods and a new lake because of that than damming the Mediterranean causing half of it to evaporate in like 10 years tbh…

Glenn feels as an unsatisfactory continuation to American liberalism from a logical standpoint, especially with the narrative built
You could go from a relatively true Liberal* like LBJ to some self proclaimed corrupt centrist + Epstein associate like Glenn and then somehow to McNamara in pre-TT3 USA, and I think what the TNO team did with Hart and his replacement of Glenn was brilliant all things considered

In regards to the Mars path an update is in the works for TNO that will fully rework the space race and make it an actual race that takes place over the decade between Japan, Germany and the USA with Italy and Brazil and the Ultravisionaries in Russia also able to participate to an extent this was part of the reason why Glenn was removed as it would be redundant if he existed when all other presidents could also go to the moon.

I realy hate that TNO is becomming more grounded. I liked the fact that it was as insane as it was.
They are cutting a lot of the stuff that made TNO TNO and is planning on re-working more stuff. Don't get me wrong, some stuff like Heydrich, Goering and Japan could really use a rework but it just seems like they're reworking everything. Imo they should focus on pumping out more content more than anything
Yeah but those weird paths sort of distract people from the themes and messages of the mod itself.

Besides the devs still want a story and meme paths kinda get in the way if that since they're played so often thus neglecting the other paths.

The Main Mod itself took 5 years in making, Second Decade would took an actual ours real decade time to complete, considering there is 20+ country and 30+ proxy war in one decades for each superpower to compete against eachother and don't get me start on thier Intelligent Agency mechanism that each superpower used to compete against eachother to sway the other 10+ minor that doesn't had any content but need to be there because of the "Narrative".
"TNO 2" has always been the stretchiest of stretch goals. The main goal is to give 10 years of playable content to every important and important-ish country.

Why is TNO so very very weird? Like weird isn't bad but I thought it was more grounded based on how it describes itself.
I mean, they originally described themselves as quite an unrealistic alt history just designed to be fun. But it seems like they're now trying to be more realistic.
I love the crazy unrealistic nonsense. I’m really hoping it doesn’t pull a Kaiserreich and get rid of all that stuff, because the appeal of the mod to me was always that it goes to-the-walls bonkers. I mean, have you seen Italy?

Love they removed Atlantropa, what could have made a slightly little sense, but didn't touched the artificial Congo Sea, what objectively is a bad idea and it never had the chance to be adapted by anyone.
Because the Congo Lake doesn’t affect gameplay
Atlantropa caused a lot of problems for the development of Mediterranean countries
they remove it because the team who's responsible for Spain and Italy content hit a brick wall and got into some sort of writer's block. basically, Atlantropa hinders the content development for that country so it makes sense they decide to remove it if they finally want to get somewhere

I don't get why you peoples are so obsessed with Atlantropa. It's barely talked about in the mod, it's basically just a map change. If you want it so badly just wait for a submod to come out or make it yourself.
And the problem with Atlantropa isn't that it's "kinda" unrealistic. It would literally turn all of Southern Europe into a desert, and there's not even enough concrete in the world to build it.
All of the lore for Mediterranean countries makes absolutely no sense with Atlantropa. The devs would have to rewrite it all but they can't because it's literally not possible.

I don’t like the reworked tno. the removal of glenn and his replacement by a theoretical “space race” mechanic for all countries is a good case to show this: it’s not fun to have yet another clunky decision menu UI a for all presidents. it’s more fun and involved to have specific mechanics for specific people rather than have a fuckton of mechanics for everyone. after all, tno is limited in its engine

@@garrethb6261 For What? If you knew literally anything about the history of democracy or more accurately republics, and not a tainted snapshot of modern irrational politics you wouldn't be confused. Obviously the party focused on representative republicanism would be more liberal than the party focused on a federal presidential democracy.

Are you talking about the party switch?
Sure the Republicans were the more liberal ones to start with, but the democrats started to become more left wing after the civil war, mostly due to support from Unions and such. The Democratic party had many left wing elements long before FDR was president.
This notion that the party swap happened only after FDR assumed office is wrong, the switch was a gradual process that started before FDR assumed office and ended in the late 60's I believe.
