I’m trying to get back into RC after a near ten year break (Vorza) I have my eyes on on of these Fazer’s but as I want brushless il have to do a build myself. This video helps a lot so thank you. You might have convinced me to buy a chassis kit rather than RTR

I’m glad to hear that. There are so many RC choices today, you’re sure to find what you’re looking for.

Recommend that the fan remains on the esc. The brushless esc will get hot and without the fan the life of the esc will be reduced. Leave the cover off so it will fit.

      Sound advice. 👍

21.5 motor geared at over 6.00 FDR doesnt need ESC fan.

I should also say that for those who end up using this motor/esc combo, the esc is most likely set to forward+brake mode (no reverse) since this is a competition grade motor.
So don’t panic if all of a sudden your car doesn’t reverse, you just need the hobby wing program card to change the setting for reverse.

Oh man, so if you don't get the card you have no reverse? That's disappointing...

Great video. Ive been all crawlers since joining this hobby a couple of years ago. I have the mk2 roller on the way. What kind /tires are best for these and for speed? I know everything about crawlers but nothing about these lol. I also got the Subaru WRX clear body coming. Looking at brushless systems now. Is there any parts I should go ahead and order for upgrades before I run it?

The Challenger is a slightly longer wheelbase. The WRX body may not fit. I would definitely go with the aluminum drive shaft for brushless.

I realize that this video was uploaded quite a while ago, and I'm not trying to criticize any point of it.
I noticed you soldered the three wires to the motor the way you did, and when i take a look at how the ESC and motor I have is labeled, I would have my wires connected in a different order. I suppose perhaps your specific motor/esc might have the sequences in a different order, but I feel like i need clarification since I myself am new and looking to get into this.
motor is lined up in C, B, A format
ESC is lined up in A, B,C format
Direct connection like in your video means I would have:
    Motor - ESC
    C-A
    B-B
    A-C
I guess my question is if not following the standard sequence would do any particular damage to these parts

You are right on. The car ran faster in reverse which was unfortunate. I ended up not filming a track run later that day. I've learned that lesson. Thanks for watching. 👍

I appreciate you commenting on this man, your vids on this chassis helped me learn a lot on this. Built up some confidence in buying a whole other chassis and making the upgrades on that one

Do I have to change the kR331 reciever to run the hobby wing esc and motor??

No the Kyosho receiver will work fine with the Hobbywing ESC.
