That editing during your planning phase with the use of the project zomboid map tools was so inventive. For me I always have the most fun by roleplaying as my project zomboid survivor and being very meticulous about my plans. I'd be very interested in a series in which we see a lot of videos like this from a survivors perspective. Clearly takes a ton of work though, keep up the great work!

Honestly as a protip, just dont use firearms outside of a few cases, 99% of the time you'll attract more zombies then you have ammo, unless you have some weapon mods for silencers or are at the army base.

The reason you "lose" your lighter is because when you equip it to throw the cocktail it is lit and you will consume it completely, once depleated is gone. You need to unequip it immediately or press F in order to turn it off
Yes, spending too much time around a large amount of rotting corpses will give you the queasy moodle, which will slowly max out. You're not actually sick, and although you can die if you stay around long enough, it'll disappear once you move away.
Completely unrelated to the method itself, but man, the way you arranged your inventory and container-loot... I'm stealing that. Great video, lovely explanation and its great to see it in action.
This has been fixed, and now wheels take a lot of damage while passing over dead bodies. You can still do it but try hitting zombies with only the lateral sides of the vehicle (drifting).
I follow a similar method. Instead of lighting them initially I will just aggro all of them and lead them into a large clearing. I will then light them and circle the horde. It limits damage to the vehicle and saves you the concern of damaging buildings. It takes a little more planning though. I cleared the prison by using the siren at the front, leading them outside the first fence wall, then when they were outside I lead them down the road, then I turned off the sirens and cut through the woods with my vehicle (as far as I could go) and then cut down the trees in the way. This puts me between the prison and the horde. I barricaded the fence entrance with a few cars. I then had to fight far fewer zombies in the prison from the back. It took many in game days. I finished off by heading outside the barricade to my ambulance and aggro'd the leftovers from earlier. I circled the horde and then lit the candle when there were a few hundred in a nice tight ball. Then I abandoned the prison because of the hundreds of bodies littering the inside. My dumbass turned corpse decay to several weeks ingame. Without respawns itll be clear by winter but... who wants to wait that long.
This was surprisingly effective, I have used the park an emergency vehicle with the siren on the fire bomb the zombies aa they swarm it trick many times but this will have to be a new tool in my kit from now on
That was added in not to long ago, tires taking damage from corpses, in his playthrough that hadn't been implemented yet which is why it didn't happen, but even without tires cars move surprisingly well.
Especially because vehicle effectiveness is proportional to FPS for some absurd reason. If you have low framerate your vehicle will perform worse in every way (I found that even breaking wouldn't work as well)
@@Bstoop-ej7gl It actually breaks the campaign in SR4 (or maybe SR3, can't remember) because there is a section in the game where you need to pass through a gap that gets smaller and smaller that is made to look like you only just managed to escape through the gap. However, if your game runs too slow, you are actually unable to advance through the mission because your ship will crash into the gap's walls every time.
I had a very similar experience by accident. Didnt know I left and oven on and left that house to eventually sleep in the house next door. I wake up the next day to find the bed I was sleeping on had been reduced to ashes! but I survived. The entire neighborhood was on fire. I had a station wagon and just keep honking and driving the flamers around until it was clear. Great vid!

There is a very simple reason why the lighter disappears... To light the molotov you turn the lighter on.... To turn it off, ... simply press "F" ,thats all to avoid the lighter disappearing.
You can also use a campfire if you don't find molotovs. Also, since cars don't break down yet, you can leave the ambulance with the sirens on so you don't have to drive around, and you can go to a nearby building to drink some tea while the zombies die around the car.
Sadly this has been fixed (dunno when). Your soundbar will take damage when zombs gather around vehicle, and it usually won't last long enough to be worth it
I use the same kind of technique, but rather drifting backwards Tokyo Drift style. Just pressing left and down for example, in an open area. There is a risk of glitching and flipping the truck over.
Now its much more difficult. Flames dont spread from zombie to zombie just for approximation. A zombie needs to die while on fire and another zombie needs to walk through the flames left by the zombie corpse for the fire spread successfully.
This is an amazing idea ima have to try this out in the new Louisville map. Seen a video where someone just lit campfires near the car and sat inside while honking the horn, also seemed to work
The lighter counts as a light source when equipped. That's why it can seemingly disappear after using a molotov. What actually happens is that you kept it on long enough to run out of lighter fluid, so you need to equip and unequip it fast when throwing molotovs. Molotovs are annoying for this reason, and the fact that they don't work with matches, atleast I haven't gotten it to work. I always play as Engineer, so I have a good arsenal of bombs. In particular the pipe bomb, which requires fairly readily available resources and the Flame Trap which is a buffed Molotov that just requires a empty plastic or glass bottle (very common) and gas, which is pretty much a limitless resource. You can even make remote, timed or motion sensor addons to any of the bombs, although the materials required are quite rare.
Old vid, but if anyone needs an updated plan for this : You can leave the ambulance parked somewhere with the siren on, just make sure the battery has juice, and you can even leave the vehicle on for extra time. Then, all you gotta do is park it in an area you are willing to burn down, and camp on a nearby roof for a day or two while the alarm gathers an insane horde. At this point I like to use the engineer remote flame traps, but simply tossing a molotov works as well. Kinda glitchy throwing stuff from a higher level though, so its a good idea to use the throwable from nearby, or to light the fire early on so you dont have to mess around. This way, you dont burn down a whole block, but you have the danger of burning to death in your sleep if you're not careful. Id say place a bunch of sheet ropes around the roof you're on, with vantage points so you can see the bottom of the rope. Churches work well for this, the Sunstar hotel in Muldraugh, places with parking lots in largely populated areas.
i got to about 2100 kills with my old character ricky bobby by using the same tactic except getting out of my vehicle when ive attracted most of them and clearing them using my axe and an automatic shotgun, makes for a much more badass experience

Molotovs can be lit without having the lighter equipped apparently. Also, your tires will pop using this method now with the current build.

I agree, seasoned players stock up on guns and ammo for the day they are done "playing" their play through. They also molotov their base.
