Just finished making these, they are soooooo cute!!! Extra stretchy and comfy, I love the ribbing and cable stitch sides 😍 I only wish I accounted for having a big butt since they kind of pull down the waist in the back and aren't as high waisted as I planned for lol but wowwwww 10/10 recommend!
I was thinking the same thing. I’m going to try again, but make the cables a few stitches closer together in the front. That way there will be more rows in the back to accommodate the stuff in the trunk! : )

Thanks so so much! The waist band would be made to be able to stretch to the widest part of your hips and the rest comes along with the waist band so it all fits and synches making it form fitting and comfy! 😊

If you're doing exposed pockets that would definitely work, but you wanted the pocket to be on the inside of the shorts that may be a little tricky cause they may bulge. Depends on if you have an even or odd about of stitches for your waist band! If it's odd, yes. Even, no. You just want to make sure you have the same amount of stitches on both sides! 😊

Nah you're doing it right. As long as it's 1 SC into each side SLST row you're fine. Single crochet's are bigger than slip stitches so it'll stretch out the bottom a bit. 😊

with each row that you have there should be a half double crochet along the edge, you have have to put separate the last Stitch from the edge, but there should be a sizable gap when you do. 😊 and you alternate between 1 and 2 single crochet's into every side half double crochet. 😊

I’m making a large! Wrap the waistband around your waist as you go along and see if it fits around your waist but has a little ease so you can get it over your hips and just tie the drawstring! I’ll give more tips later! I also did back loops single crochet instead of slst for the waiste. (Makes it stretchier, looks just as good, and is a timesaver-time always needed when youre busy with life)
2. If you have a belly (like me) and want it as your waist, I chained 30-35 as my starting chain for the waistband, again using single crochet to make the ribbing.

The chain 2 after each row is there to get the height we want for the next row. 😁 Hope this answers your question!!
