- So just over a week ago I flew over to Qatar to check out Northwestern University as a potential study option for myself and it's safe to say Qatar is definitely not at all what I expected it to be.

Sometimes we, Qatar residents, really don’t realize how lucky we are to be living in such a modern country until we move abroad and don’t get the same amount of leisure as we do here which tells us to be grateful for wherever you are❤️
I have never been outside of Pakistan, but my friends who have visited Qatar told me the quality of life in Qatar is much better than USA, UK, Germany and other western countries. Qatar is truly an underrated gem.

I work in Qatar,and honestly,this country is so modernised ,qataris live so well with nice hospitals around them,schools,and anything they would like... I'm so jealousy our African leaders are letting us down even with all the resources that we have....

Qatar is extremely wealthy due to it's intelligence.
@jiggly puff to maintain that oil they had to do alot of hardwork. Other countries only think 'oow middle east countries become rich becoz of oil' but only those people know how hard it is to maintain. Qatari government is much better to maintain that work.

really nice video i also think about studying in quatar but im not 100% sure because of the high tuition fees
3:02 (my uni has a huge library too once I get enrolled I am going for it) I always wanted to read soo many books but they r expensive in my country like 21.32 dollars.. And that's why I spend my savings on tech(I don't waste time on my pc all the time, I can do graphic designing and editing) and 😘art supplies(recently bought an art tablet) working on a project.

I have never visited a library. But after watching qatar library, oo my i wanna go to that library.
Looks great but the tuition fees are probably eye-watering. Mine was just over £9000 per year tuition in the UK, not including living costs and I thought that was bad but Qatar is likely way more. Also, what's the education like? Career prospects? Yes, the facilities look fantastic but ultimately you want something that will get you a good job.

Funny thing is that when I was at a University in North Wales, UK. There were dozens of students from Qatar. So it is not how the place looks like that matter. It's the quality of education.

Absolutely.. Couldn't agree more. You could have a little hut with exceptional and outstanding education and than you have the high tex morden look with only lavish spending, no results.
The quality is good it’s just too expensive studying abroad is less expensive than studying in the country. Other than that, a lot of Qatari students have the privilege of being able to study abroad for free and get a salary as well with sponsors, if u got that chance u probably would take it as well.

Just wanted to let y’all know, I lived more than a quarter of my life in qatar as a student and a resident of qatar, and when I came to for my higher education career ( uni) to malaysia that’s when I actually felt soo bad to get away from qatar as I didn’t receive even a bit of what I received in qatar, okay let’s not exaggerate but like by far qatar the quality of life is far better than the European countries around the world or the so called advanced country. It’s just amazing the facilities a resident can gain there is just insane.
And love for 🇶🇦 will be embedded in my heart forever and wherever I go around the world, end of the day I wanna just settle down there

Pakistani born and raised in qatar and i didn't realise how much prevliged I was living in Qatar until I moved to Mississauga last year for uni. Honesly night and day differences you can never get the services you get in qatar elsewhere. That being said it does feel lile a "bubble" in reference to your defence video as the real world is so much different.

I mean the uni's in Qatar are expensive man.... like they basically charge the same as their main campuses.
Qatar University is a very good price. Only 800 riyals per month for accommodation. Food and transport included. But yeah the rest are SUPER expensive

@@yousuffarooq5128 It depends on your grades.If your grades meet up the merit (which is high),then you'll be getting some advantages of it which will resultantly make the stay less expensive.
@@muhammadjawad9341 They do offer scholarships.They provide a lot of opportunities to the students who are high in grades.Even if the grading scale isn't upto the mark,you'll get a lot of help from the educational institutions here.You can study on the student loan,which you'll have to repay after you're done studying (by doing a job under them).

Lived there for 5 years, it was pretty nice. I grew up in Malaysia for 13 years.
To walk hand in hand? Lots of people do that
To have a cold beer in a pub with friends? My American and Canadian teachers were able to drink alcohol to somewhere they went together
To kiss your gf/bf in a public place? On the cheek or forehead, sure. Not lips.
To wear for example a cargo short? Men and women have to wear pants that cover their knees. Men shouldn't be shirtless in beaches with many people but there are sides of the beaches where you can be alone with you friends
What about freedom? Pretty nice. You can leave your phone or laptop anywhere at the mall or school and it won't get stolen. Only heard 1 police siren in my 5 years there. Qatar is the safest country in the world currently.

The quality of education in middle Eastern countries is bad. Definitely pursue education in a Western country. Kids from the qatar, uae and kuwait even come to Pakistan to study.

i live in Qatar and experience are very subjective, my two sisters are in an university in Qatar and they love it, plus Qatar is perfect for students who want to focus on there studies.
@@muhammadrazashahhash I also have friends who studied in Middle East in branches of western universities like NYU, Herriot Watt etc. You will get a western degree for sure, but in the job market, this degree would be less valuable than if you were to pursue it in USA, UK etc. It's well known that UAE pays people from third world countries less than ones from first world countries in the western part.

They come to Pakistan to study? Are you sure about that? Where did you get that from? I am from Pakistan, and most people here in Pakistan want to study abroad, including Arab countries.
@@omairtech6711 correction* they want to study abroad preferably in European, North American or East Asian countries. The reputation of education in middle Eastern countries is bad to say the least. If you don't believe me, you can check the ranking of countries by their publications in scientific journals. Heck even Pakistan has a better scientific ranking than middle Eastern countries which is majorly due to our contributions to nuclear science. If you want more evidence, go to your local market and enlist education consultants who send students to middle East to study, you will find small to none because little demand.
