Dang i just got eaten alive up in bemidji a couple days ago by mosquitoes lol. Water tempa still to high for that true fall feedup and school up. Fish are still spread way out.
Fishing with Nat has some decent explanation of these ideas (his crankbait episode has a little bit of footage in murky water of what some baits look like, including a few jerkbait and lipless bait types). There aren't a lot of demonstrators who've presented these underwater views, and done it well.
good stuff
🙂👍
Have fun!...you just finished a tuff tournament.....get away from using a wacky worm & Ned rig....you're in a rut with those two baits. Have fun!!
I'm learning that the wacky worm/Neko Rig/Ned rig isn't always the answer. They are great finesse baits and load the boat when they are "on".
Thanks for the scoop! I’ll have to go give that deep coontail a shot🫡
I hope you do well!

Seems like a prolonged summer as the air temps remain above normal. Change is approaching however!
David Dudley released another episode of his underwater lure lab testing.
Okay

Awesome. Are there any decent cabins to stay around Gull lake?
There's a few nice resorts on the lake.. There are motels off the lake. There's campgrounds around. I'm sure there are VRBO opportunities as well.
Water temp. In s. Illinois 81 degrees.
That's bathwater!
I can't get anything going on the lakes I've tried in Carver co right now. Nothing but pike. September I have no clue where the fish go.
September is tricky. Sometimes deep is best, other times shallow is number one.
