  • This video covers the disassembly and reassembly of the M10X-Z. These are the steps needed for basic maintenance and cleaning of the M10X. Some of these steps may not be the same for the older M10X Elite rifles.

Thank you so much for solving my problem! My gas block was not locked properly. This is just a great video.

    - I had to read a review by a firearm blogger to find out the bolt isn't supposed to go all the way back while the safety is engaged. I had a suspicion before reading the review, but wasn't sure, since with some slightly increased force I can override that feature and chamber a round with the safety on. 🤷🏻‍♂️ I hope you've updated the M10X manual since 2020 to include this bit of information.

Not really.... You can run the bolt just fine with the safety on if the hammer is already down and locked into the trigger. The only time the safety prevents running the bolt is if the hammer is up AND the safety is on. It's an AK trigger group, and behaves exactly like every other AK on the planet.

      - Ah, okay. That makes sense. But still, I'd have no way of knowing that from the included literature. Thank you for the reply.
I chose an M10X as my first rifle, (for a number of reasons) so I didn't come into ownership with a lot of prior knowledge in other weapon systems.

@@BlueMarten It's discussed at about 45 seconds in this video, and there's an entry in the FAQ on our site about it.

Hi guys, I just purchased this rifle yesterday which I presume to be a Gen 3 as that's what my dealer told me. I put my first 140 rounds through it today and really had no issues other than one failure to eject and a light strike. Could have been the ammo I was using (PMC Bronze) Anyways my gas piston has a slight difference than the one in this video. There is a metal O-ring at the end that connects to the bolt carrier and I believe its what was stopping me from getting the the piston back into the gas tube. I had to push the piston down until the tension on the spring was at the max until it snapped in the tube. This was all after my cleaning of course.
Should I be worried on my next range day?

Nice to see if m+m can make 7.62x54r or .308 rifles in the near future...

My bolt is silver in color. Is this one of the first generation rifles? Thanks

The silver bolt is likely a Gen 2 as the finish was temporarily changed during covid when nitriding parts became difficult. You can always contact us through our website with your serial number or pictures of your firearm and we would be happy to identify it for you
