Regulus mentioned it was free time, does this mean throwing children off a tall tower is not an organizational terriorist attack, but a “free time hobby” of Sirius?
This is the full quote of one of them Regulus: [Don’t you understand basic concepts like politeness? The first thing I did was introduce myself. The reason why I did so, is because it’s the most important thing to do at the start of a relationship. No matter what kind of relationship, isn’t it necessary to start with an acquaintanceship where we both know each other? So, just because I’m someone who cares about such things, I often think that no matter whom it is, I will be as friendly as possible with anyone. I’m not saying that there isn’t a chance that the other party is shy. Even if you think you want to become well-connected, when you start by introducing yourself, sometimes you cannot help but hesitate. Out of consideration for those types of people, I try to introduce myself as much as possible, and act to create a space where they feel comfortable. Of course, I don’t expect this grace to be immediately obvious. However, I do have hopes that after some time, they will be able to detect the meaning of introductions. Or, rather, that they will become aware of it. Or is it natural to talk to someone you meet for the first time without introducing yourself? If that’s the case, then there’s a slight difference between my common sense and those people’s culture. In that case, although both parties feel a sense of obligation, it becomes necessary to refuse the other side in advance as to prevent a misunderstanding. That isn’t so different from what I said before, about taking being gentle with each other for granted. In fact, saying so feels impolite. That’s a lack of etiquette, and the other party is left with a lesser value. A false assessment of each other’s value imposes on others. This is a violation of the rights of others. From any rational perspective, this is an infringement of my rights.]
I think a lot of the small details this episode were well animated, too, like Regulus jumping into the Sirius donut while holding Emilia, Subaru’s hand when he calls Emilia his waifu, and Subaru falling back after Ferris pokes his leg.

in the web novel ( arc 4) Frederica explains this in one of her chats with Subaru. Garf and freddie have different fathers, their mother led an unfortunate life, was abducted by a band of demihumans and Freddie was born of . Some time later she fell in with another group and encountered garf's father. and garf was born.
45:17 You were 100% CORRECT about this. Crunchyroll literally just posted this entire scene out of context on Twitter and youtube and said some dumb shit like "Emilia is Subaru's waifu!" They 100% made that mistranslation on purpose.
Translating "俺の嫁" (ore no yome) as "my waifu" is a legitimate translation. It's an otakuan slang, that is used in essentially the exact same way westerns use "waifu". Hence why it's not really a mistranslation (though you can argue it's a mislocalization since westerns generally don't use "waifu" to talk about real people (but the Japanese do)). To suggest that they mistranslated it on purpose to create a clip is disingenuous, when "my waifu" is an accepted translation of "俺の嫁". You can search "俺の嫁" on google to find this same information (via wikitonary and wikipedia). I'd link them directly, but youtube doesn't like links in comments.

21:06 I think it was mentioned, by the author I think? (cmiiw), that in a free for all between all the sin archbishops and the witches, regulus could get out of it victorious. On top of that, I think he's the strongest of the sin archbishops, at least up to that point in the story. Please correct me if I'm wrong. It's been a long while since I read up on this stuff. Yeah I've heard people mention that he said that in an interview or something. I haven't seen the original source, but I've seen a lot of people mention it and nobody has called it out as being made up so I'm guessing it's probably true
I don't remember if this is a spoiler or not, so proceed with caution. About the talk of the "abnormal powers being evil or not", witch's factors are a corrupting type of power. Meaning they WILL corrupt it's user, eventually. It's not much of a "Subaru uses it for good but the cultists use it for evil", is more of a "the archobisps have already been affected by their witch factor".
It's worth remembering that Minerva, who in each of her appearances in S2 was nothing but benign and helpful (in her own tsun way) has killed more innocent people than any sin archbishop. And this was with full knowledge of the consequences of her actions. Only Satella has a higher body count.
Though its worth noting that its not like just having witch factors makes you a worse person over time, or at least that we know, its more that the authorities they manifest play into your vices and facilitate you becoming a worse, more dangerous and harmful person the normal way.
I think it's important for writers to understand the importance that strong female characters should be more like Emilia and Mimi. Their greatest strength is their kindness towards others. Yes they can also fight, hit villains really hard, emotional intelligent (although not omnipotent) and have a natural instinct for when someone is hurting especially those they love and care for. They're not assholes randomly to strangers and they themselves aren't indestructible. They have feelings, motives, bleed and are as human as everyone else. I feel like that's a problem I see with a lot of stories is the lack of humanity because X character has to be strong all the time in the raw sense of the word, lacking the emotional connection for us to latch us on. There are many different forms of strength, not just being strong in the physical sense. We need to see characters at their lowest so their heights look so much more impressive. Just think about where Subaru was and is now. Think where Emilia was and now is. It's only in ones darkest moments, do we see how bright their light is and witness those who will shield their flame from going out.

jesus christ psyculturists, as a novel reader i cant help myself when you go on these long yaps about the core of the things behind re:zero, like subaru and the witches. youre in the right place, and youre thinking about just the right things. youre asking all of the right questions going into this season. jesus, keep these ideas in the back of your head, youre going to blow your own mind. if youre this interested in the events of 400 years ago and subaru's reason for being here then youre going to absolutely want to marry this show
41:47 it's because Sirius having thought that Petelguese is gone, now saw proof that he is actually alive. More accurately, alive within a new vessel (subaru). Remember, Petelguese could take over other people's bodies, and that's what Sirius thinks is happening now. That somehow, after the events of arc 3, Petelguese managed to survive by transferring himself to a new body. That said, she's gonna get her hopes dashed when it gets into her head that while the witch factor of sloth is now with subaru, it doesn't necessarily mean Petelguese is also there...
Not sure if you’ll see this, but another future series that has a lot of characters with interesting psychology is Fate/Zero and/or Fate/Stay Night Unlimited Blade Works. It touches the theme’s of ideals and how far people are willing to go to pursue them.
Typhon (the witch) is named for the monster of Greek myth. It was a massive chimeric beast sent to punish the Olympians. Without looking it up, I believe Hermes, a trckster god and god of merchants, was instumental in Typhon's defeat.
On that whole tangent about reactors, some that came to mind are Yaboyrocklee, who do discussions at the end of eps, (in facte their full reacts are on patron, and the Re:Zero ones tend to be long) And Yaboyroshi who did say they did a recap before season 3 and because there's 3 people, if one forgets the other tends to point it out or remind them, they also seem to get ALOT of stuff right before it happens so they do seem to be paying attetion. I think we shouldn't judge those who don't do an hour long video of every thing they see, but those who do seem interested in the series to the point of remembering minor stuff.
1:00:00 I sometimes seriously wonder how anime reaction channels can be a sustainable enterprise. It relies too much on content (anime) created by others that puts it in a grey area with respect to copyright.
Are evangelion episodes going to be released any time soon? I gotta say after the first two I started watching on my own and I gotta say it was the first time in a long while since i finished an anime season so fast. i only ever had such a high speed of watching when I just started
47:40 you're right. Also, for someone who won't stop ranting endlessly about rights and such, regulus should acknowledge that as one of a person's rights.
For anyone wondering about the episode count: Arc 5 will have 16 episodes split into 8 and 8 Arc 6 will have 22 episodes to out current knowledge (very very reliable leaker confirmed the count). No idea how they want to split them yet. Will be pretty damn hype because Arc 6 is by most of the novel readers considered to be the best Arc of the series
Bruh, it is the BEST, it literally gave me chills so many times & so many times i had to stop myself in the middle of the chapters to process whatever happened, though idk if anime will be as good as it is
I'd consider the most prideful thing about Subaru to beRBD. Being able to almost solely decide the direction the story moves like that, resetting everytime the outcome is displeasing, is extremelyprideful.
Personally from what I've seen there's less people reacting to Re Zero for clout and more just people being contrarian about it and hating on it for clout.
In all seriousness at this point; the cast collectively knows the gist of 2 out of 4 Sins and the 3rd is clearly immaculate defense of some kind. But who currently knows anything about Lust? I would send Reinherdt after Lust since she is the unknown. The best DPS vs Greed; the fastest vs Gluttony; and the strongest willed vs Wrath. Because with Gluttony all we really know is if your caught its over; so the fastest means that they are not caught and could hit and run. I will say that with future knowledge I would rearrange things some. Personally I found Lust to have the most vile and sinister nature... absolutely detestable in every way. I think her stank was described as being like rotten wounds or say stagnant water just those sort of pure revolution smells. Or if you know the series... the Aunt/mom from Happy Sugar Life; ya know the uber skank one.
I love how chat thinks Mimi and Garf scene is like a "Rem" thing, but Rem doesn't say a single word what Mimi says. But Emilia does. "You dont have to put tough act on anymore" is directly what Emilia loves to tell Subaru when he is feeling stubborn about opening up. (Literally Lap pillow scenes) Even fun cut content in Season 2. When Subaru was having bit mental breakdown between Roswaal reveal and Subaru running into the forest. A scene between Subaru and Emilia happen and Emilia saw Subaru having bit mental breakdown and her first thought was to put Subaru head on her boobs and let Subaru hear her heart to calm him down. Funny how Mimi is basically doing something similar with Garfiel. Different, but similar to help them. Which is very sad cut because it was one most important scenes in Season 2 and they changed the narrative a bit of why he ran into the forest in first place. Also, Ed is gonna have a WILD time with Capella and her views. Ed is gonna become the new yap god when he analyzes Capella
1:51:52 as far as the beginning of arc 9, it hasn't been explored as to whether or not this is true. The author, apparently, plans to go into it at a later point in the story, but so far, nothing concrete to prove or disprove any connection. Also, while all the sin archbishops are pure evil, it's been stated that Capella is in a league of her own, being even worse, probably being the most evil among the sin archbishops...cmiiw
Oh boy Probably one of my fave HOOKS is incoming. Next episode or the one after and I just about lost it when it appears in the LN. This being anime it will be apparent about immediately as you can see the character. But the core cliff drop for this part might just melt your brain it so good. seriously tho its the best part of arc 5 to me; better even than the Sin fights is a specific reveal of who a certain antagonist is. Truly cannot wait to see your brain tremble trying to figure out WTF is going on in real time. I hope Espi joins you for that episode for the after show conversation.
@45:00 To be clear, there is technical merit to translating "俺の嫁" (ore no yome) as "my waifu". It's the exact internet slang phrase that otaku (which Subaru could very likely be familiar with) use to talk about their their parasocial relationships. Now I can't comment the source links in youtube (because it deletes them if I do) but you can search for 俺の嫁 and it's the en.wiktionary link and the ja.wikipedia link. It's also worth noting that unlike in English, where "waifu" is only applicable to anime girls / boys, in Japanese, it can also be used for real people and inanimate objects. Whether or not that is the best localization is up for debate (and it probably isn't, since in English you wouldn't use "waifu" to talk about real people), but it isn't the translator simply injecting language for the sole purpose of clip farming. That is the phrase that Subaru said (though it doesn't make as much sense in English).
1:10:54 you have no idea, bro. try watching grand blue and find chisa, or lycoris recoil and find chisato. Watch her performance for those two, and compare it to sirius. The range is just as insane as sirius is...
Not sure if this is the right place for this but I just wanted to suggest a short anime for you to react to. It's called School-Live(Gakkou Gurashi) and while saying much of anything about it's premise would ruin the experience I really think it would be a great fit for your type of commentary. Sorry again for being off-topic.
45:01 the subs said wife "yome" to mean the spouse of a groom, a bride, wife in the most basic sense. However, they're not necessarily wrong with the subs either since 1. "yome" can mean both "wife" in the most basic sense, and also be the japanese equivalent of "waifu". And 2. I wouldn't put it past subaru to say it that way just to take the piss on his enemy (regulus in this case)...
To be fair Ed your among the few that are not main jobbing content creation. You paying your bills in other ways frees up what you can afford to do. But yeah few people out there are like Teaboo where THIS is both hobby and job. and act to be as transparent and free while still making money for the sake of THIS being their livelihood. It is important that you are doing this for non profit reasons. but that is the hardest way to YT.
18:30 God, this finally made something click. I was trying to describe Regulus' yapping, but couldn't fit the words. Now I got it. Dude's not having a dialogue, he's having a conversation in his head and you're deviating from the script.
45:50 They probably did do it to clip farm, but I think that "waifu" might not be as bad of a translation as it seems at first. Subaru does use a shitton of otaku slang, and "ore no yome" (aka "my waifu") is one of those slangs. Won't deny that it's probably a kneejerk reaction so he might've said more than he would've otherwise, but I think this was more targeted at Regulus (as in, "You're just a waifu collector, too!") than at Emilia. And mocking himself 'coz self-esteem issues. But I can definitely see why people would consider it clip farming and bad subs lol.
39:12 I don't know if this is exactly spoiler-worthy. But we can say that Subaru canonically has a fetish for choking women. In fact, everyone. It started as a theory at first because of some moments in the LN. But Wrathif and Greedif confirmed it. Actually, there's more evidence that he's a sexual sadist. But it's a spoiler. Especially for arc6.
@@osmanturk7615 I will say though, if it is genuinely anything it’s probably a tappei thing since it seems mega out character of Subaru? Idk tho feel free to correct me
@@CursedDoggiee It's not really out of character. Subaru has always had a domination and possessiveness theme. arc 3 is the most obvious example. The idea that love should be something that must be earned. He believes that no one will love him if he doesn't give them something in return, if he doesn't save them or suppress them. Which is not wrong for him, unfortunately. There is no one in this world who helps Subaru just because he is Subaru. Either Subaru saved them, or did something useful for them, or tricked them into helping him. No one helps Subaru without expecting anything in return. Not even Reinhard. The reason Reinhard came to Subaru's aid in the first place was because he thought Subaru was a girl. It was explained by the writer. In Prideif, Subaru actually called for help, but he couldn't make a feminine sound at that moment, so that's what happened. Prideif was actually Reinhard's choice. Of course, I don't blame him. There's a kind of Superman situation. He hears a lot of screams at the same time.
@@osmanturk7615 I don’t think that would, still tho. This would imply that when he was choking Louis that he uh liked it and she kinda in a child body so… 😳😭😭

jesus christ psyculturists, as a novel reader i cant help myself when you go on these long yaps about the core of the things behind re:zero, like subaru and the witches. youre in the right place, and youre thinking about just the right things. youre asking all of the right questions going into this season. jesus, keep these ideas in the back of your head, youre going to blow your own mind. if youre this interested in the events of 400 years ago and subaru's reason for being here then youre going to absolutely want to marry this show
41:47 it's because Sirius having thought that Petelguese is gone, now saw proof that he is actually alive.
On that whole tangent about reactors, some that came to mind are Yaboyrocklee, who do discussions at the end of eps, (in facte their full reacts are on patron, and the Re:Zero ones tend to be long)
And Yaboyroshi who did say they did a recap before season 3 and because there's 3 people, if one forgets the other tends to point it out or remind them, they also seem to get ALOT of stuff right before it happens so they do seem to be paying attetion.
I think we shouldn't judge those who don't do an hour long video of every thing they see, but those who do seem interested in the series to the point of remembering minor stuff.
1:04 At least it’s not wide subs lol
W I D E S U B S was great haha
On Garfield and Mimi's scene, I cried reading, watching the anime, and now. I just love this story so much 🥹
1:00:00 I sometimes seriously wonder how anime reaction channels can be a sustainable enterprise. It relies too much on content (anime) created by others that puts it in a grey area with respect to copyright.
next ep will surpass your expectation
Lust is just Nina Tucker from FMA all grown up 😂
That "ah-ah" by capella is so naughty to hear
Are evangelion episodes going to be released any time soon? I gotta say after the first two I started watching on my own and I gotta say it was the first time in a long while since i finished an anime season so fast. i only ever had such a high speed of watching when I just started
41:45 what happened in between here
a cut line from Sirius was her calling Regulus a "small and superficial man"
make of that whatever you like
47:40 you're right. Also, for someone who won't stop ranting endlessly about rights and such, regulus should acknowledge that as one of a person's rights.
For anyone wondering about the episode count:
Arc 5 will have 16 episodes split into 8 and 8
Arc 6 will have 22 episodes to out current knowledge (very very reliable leaker confirmed the count).
1:02:41 autosave mentiones in chat!
I am also waiting for them as well
Hell yeah
Personally from what I've seen there's less people reacting to Re Zero for clout and more just people being contrarian about it and hating on it for clout.
Porque no puedo agregar los subtitulos a este video ?
I love watching your rezero because you're like a good teacher 😊 teaching psychology
(Literally Lap pillow scenes)
Even fun cut content in Season 2.
In the LN audiobook I listened to what Lust says is meat bags. I will say that scraps is closer to their personality.
this episode reminds me of FMA like the shadow arms and the villains lol
Oh boy Probably one of my fave HOOKS is incoming.
Next episode or the one after and I just about lost it when it appears in the LN.
This being anime it will be apparent about immediately as you can see the character.
But the core cliff drop for this part might just melt your brain it so good.
seriously tho its the best part of arc 5 to me; better even than the Sin fights is a specific reveal of who a certain antagonist is.
Truly cannot wait to see your brain tremble trying to figure out WTF is going on in real time.
I hope Espi joins you for that episode for the after show conversation.
Asteria arc was the highlight of this arc & that garfiel fight was 🔥
are u ever gonna continue monogatari?
Well Ed what is the meanings of the Regulus as in the stars name... hint there youthinisms for lil junk.
1:10:54 you have no idea, bro. try watching grand blue and find chisa, or lycoris recoil and find chisato. Watch her performance for those two, and compare it to sirius. The range is just as insane as sirius is...
I need Ed on Umineko Someday. That'll be so peak 😭
Garf new MC
To be fair Ed
your among the few that are not main jobbing content creation.
2:03:55 the witch in question is Typhon, the with of pride.
Checkmate Ed , someone makes 15 hour reactions to your 5 hour reactions😉 (nope)
39:12 I don't know if this is exactly spoiler-worthy. But we can say that Subaru canonically has a fetish for choking women. In fact, everyone. It started as a theory at first because of some moments in the LN. But Wrathif and Greedif confirmed it. Actually, there's more evidence that he's a sexual sadist. But it's a spoiler. Especially for arc6.
Woah I wasn’t prepared to read that wth
@@osmanturk7615 I do think that’s interesting lol
@@osmanturk7615 I don’t think that would, still tho. This would imply that when he was choking Louis that he uh liked it and she kinda in a child body so… 😳😭😭
I ship Garf and Mimi. After this arc how could you ship him with anyone else.
