If you're performing at the "Gotham Comedy" club you're career is officially over, I've yet to watch an episode and thought "that person is going somewhere" usually it's "these people are going nowhere"- I applaud the fact they try but I can't applaud talent because I've yet to see any.
i get the impression that comedians are limited in what they can say or what topics they can go into depending on the place they are at. If you listen to some podcasts of comedians, a common complaint from them is they got to edit or remove stuff they said or face consequences from their sponsors when they release videos of their acts. I remember listening to one comedian say that he was told at one venue that the "sky's the limit" in regards to his material. He then brought up a bunch of topics which were all shot down by the venue and he was like, "You can't tell me the sky's the limit when you got me digging a hole."
This guy's career is a train wreck. He's lucky he had this moment and I'm lucky I didn't pay for it. Jay never had it, do voices of celebrities that suck! People should get their money back from that night!
