Storms In Africa... what a tune!! Her Gaelic lyrics matching the keyboard patterns, the strings and the percussion...just extraordinary. It's one of the songs that can be described as a "film for the ear".
When I was in radio my Geffen rep sent me a song and said “whatever you do, don’t play it on the radio.” It was from an artist they signed, but after they received the master copy they decided it was too weird to release it. I listened to the song. I immediately went to play it on the air. The phones lit up. It became a huge hit. The song was Ornicco Flow from Enya. Within a year I quit radio, founded my own marketing company and my first client was Enya. Worked with her for 10 years. It’s strange how things work out.
that's an interesting point you brought up, her being on the Geffen label. Is she? If she is, I'd be surprised because several big Geffen artists (Elton John, Donna Summer, Neil Young, John Lennon and Yoko Ono) had unpleasant experiences recording for the label.
OMG, today we get a human time reaction LOL, Enya is INCREDIBLE beautiful, I suppouse that you already know "Angels" & "Orinoco Flow", if not... go ahead
...love that whole album Watermarks! When listening to Storms over Africa, I thought, she could have done more of this kind of music, and then you say the same! 🪘🌟🗺
Interesting these few side roads (and not "off the road") that you invite us from time to time to take with you. Always velvet for the eardrums to listen to ENYA... as well as SARAH McLACHLAN and CLANNAD (Irish band of which ENYA was a member and in which she began her career; note that this group performed a song with BONO, in 1985, "In A Lifetime"). Thanks.
Man you're right, man, dat clarinet does look like a vibrato, but where to put da batter? As a crooner with a penchant for the reverb, I should direct you to Jon & Vangelis' "Friends of Mister Cairo", where John's reverbed vocals are pure heaven at some points. Where he begins singing: One on one to talk to you"...and on through "then you pass by, giving him the other side of you, like the Mystics do, so that every time he moves, he moves for you." I want that machine! That voice! Gimme it! I am always always always moved by the first song here. Merci!
I have several of her CD's, but it has been awhile since I've lisitened to her music. It used to be a weekend staple after a long work week. By the way love your backdrops that go along with music.
Unique and timeless beauty through sound. She truly is one of a kind... Thanks for watching! 🥰

Enya's lyrics were written by Roma Ryan.

AMAZING EPIC memories there! How cool is that. Thanks for sharing. And how could they not see that the song was a huge hit? 🤯
I mean her music is just utterly unique and groundbreaking. What a great experience to be able to work with her.

Nice to hear Enya again. This was the first album of hers that I got….of course everyone knows “Orinoco Flow”!
You're early, I'M EARLY LOL! 🥇 Always love her. One of many highly overdue returning artists. Have a great day!
Love Enya.
Special Voice and Special Music.

I know, what was I thinking! 😂 Same thing tomorrow! I know OF well, but not Angels. On the list now!
@@retroreactions.... Angels... ethereal transportation, nothing else 2 say
Her first 3 albums are absolute masterpieces.
So soothing Enya, great listening. Go to her first album she was at the top of her game. Have a nice weekend
Soothing to the max!! Interesting. I want her 90s work, but I will make note to hear something from the 1st album. Have a great weekend too!
Don't know if anyone has suggest it but Afer Ventus from the Shepherd Moons album is a beautiful song.
...love that whole album Watermarks! When listening to Storms over Africa, I thought, she could have done more of this kind of music, and then you say the same! 🪘🌟🗺
Great minds think alike!! 😁 Thanks for watching this one..
So hauntingly beautiful
For sure. Very different from what I mostly hear here. Thanks for stopping by! Enjoy the rest of your day 😊
Storms In Africa é uma das canções que mais mexem comigo. Uma melodia muito linda, para mim.
On your shore and Evening Falls are beautiful.......

Hello. So glad you could revisit Enya today with me! Thanks for the compliment on the b/d. Always fun choosing them 🙂
Exquisite
Absolutely! Love her music. Enjoy the weekend my friend...
New to your channel but not to Enya. Grew up listening to her music. Have you listened to any of the album "The Celts"? Some amazing tracks there.
Hello and thanks for checking out my channel! I have not heard anything off The Celts. That's her first album right?
@@retroreactions.... yeah. I have very vivid memories of "The Sun in the Stream". My first introduction to the Uilleann Pipes (Irish bagpipe).
Nice, added that one to my list!
Please react to Orinoco Flow and Caribbean Blue,Shepherd moons and Lothlorien?!
I know OF well, and heard CB a couple times, but I will still add all your suggestions on my list. Thanks so much for watching!
Very Nice!! An Irish song and an African song. Going back in time and around the world. Fabulous!!
