Not only has he built quite a career path for himself, he's helped to improve his local law enforcement services as well by giving them EMS training. Quite the accomplishments already. And somehow finds the time to run a TH-cam channel too?

This is really going to help me with what I want to do. When I was in school, I wanted to become a first responder because my cousin was an EMS Lt/FF. I looked up to him so much. He taught me everything I need to know and he even got me classes to take. He helped me get certified through the red cross to get my First responders Cert. He unfortunately passed away about 9 months ago at the age of 24. They gave him a full escort of about 4 stations in the surrounding areas. Every since then, ive lost my fight because he was my mentor and now he is gone. This video really put the spirit back into me. You have just inspired me to put my head back in the game and I'm now going work towards where my cousin was before he passed. Thank you for your service of protecting and saving the lives of many. You are a hero to many, and thank you for inspiring me.

I know I said it before, but you definitely make me feel like I worked on the Ponderosa! I would echo two of your main recommendations. 1) A good coffee maker is your lifeblood. I still drink over a pot a day. 2) Keep your eyes open for opportunities not only in education, but life experiences. This is the type of career that if you only give it a little bit, you won't get much out of it. On the other hand, if you give it 110%, you will have a long full career to look back on when you get older. Filled with rich memories. and during the time you work, you will have one hell of a good time!! Keep up the good work my friend. You are a great resource for new recruits.

The respect I have for you is unreal. I am almost out of the national guard as I want to be in some sort of emergency so bad. My heart has been in medical and public safety for as long as I can remember. I want to do ems but I am super interested in surgical tech and reserve police. As of now my friends and I train every weekend in assisting not only our local public but also officers in trauma situations and natural disasters. I got an offer with the Red Cross to travel to China for a couple weeks but I'm telling y'all now once I complete surgical tech school or ems there is no doubt I want to do reserve police.

Sam, I just found this channel and I must say you are a man of many faces. Bald, or with a fade and clean shave, or with a fade and beard. I had to go back and make sure it was the same guy. You could use that to your tactical advantage.
Great content, and you are an amazing person. Very inspiring.
I spent 10 years in the infantry. Always wanted to do medical related training or law enforcement but never committed to either. I’m also working on my BS in Homeland Security and Emergency Management at GCU. Awesome topic of study.
Your channel has got me wanting to go EMT route as well. Hard work and not for everyone. I’ve just been bored since leaving the service and feel first responder would be best fit for me.

As a med student in my 3rd year.... I CANT EXPRESS ENOUGH, HOW TRUE THE TIP ABOUT THE COFFEE MAKER IS.
Anyone in (specially while studying in) the medical sector knows and lives by a couple of axioms:
-Yes, you can study harder, lives depend on it.
-Yes, you will have to miss that social event, you have a test comming up, dont have one? Then refer to the previous rule.
    -No, you might not rest.
    -Sleeping is for the weak
-Take care of your Coffee machine and she'll take care of you

Holy Cow! Gotta wonder when you SLEEP! But it makes sense >>>> so many of your activities tend to support and reinforce the concepts you're learning. Working in Silicon Valley, I became aware that businesses w a certain number of employees were required to have Certified First Responders on staff. That and dating a lady w a normally active 5-year-old reminded me how many stupid things *I* had done when I'd been that age that put me in an ER! So between Red Cross & your local Fire Department you can get some Decent training, without having to go full EMT academic courses. Useful if you have a family, if you like to camp, or do historical recreation groups, or sports, or live in areas w quakes, fires, floods, hurricanes, tornadoes, blizzards, et cetera.
I pray you and your wife have a long & happy life together.

Hey Sam it’s great to hear your story and how far you have come with everything.
Recently I have enrolled in my local EMT course and am loving it so much. I am from a area in WV that is overloaded with opioid overdoses (recently this week I lost a close friend in a opioid overdose). I didn’t realize how much my local EMS system has on their plate with the constant growing drug problem. I am hoping to take a Paramedic course in January of next year after getting some hands on work experience as an EMT.
Don’t stop making videos, I love the videos they are always wonderful. Looking forward to the upcoming videos.

Wow! EVERY second year med student decides at some point that they must have whatever condition, syndrome or disease they just learned. Your wife is the first person I've heard of that actually DID have pathology that year. Kudos to both of you for pressing forward to get a formal evaluation and treatment.
I wish I had learned to drink coffee back then; getting through school and residency on the caffeine in the diet soda available in the 80's was a royal pain...

I want to be a Swat medic eventually. I plan on joining the army as a combat medic, and later hopefully go to the RASP and become an army ranger medic. After my time in the army (not sure how long, might stay a full 20) I want to be a swat medic. I'm 22 years old, I hope it all works out. You're awesome man, keep busy and keep saving lives!
