Many of today's fans/concert visitors weren't even born when that video was produced. How time flies. Wow, now I feel old, because I already saw them live in the mid 90s. The rest of Germany and Europe were listening to Eurodance, Techno or Nirvana those days.
No worries, age is just a number in your head. I know people in their 30s who think they're old. Besides, you were there at the beginning, that's worth something.
@@xsezz - I'm 55. I witnessed the birth of Metal, Punk, New Wave, Cold Wave, EDM (Techno, House, etc), Industrial, Grunge, Nu Metal, you name it. I don't feel old, I feel very lucky! All those genres helped shaped who I am as a musician but ultimately it's mixing electronic music with Metal/Rock to create Industrial music that gives me more pleasure. : )

You want to watch the "Rammstein in Amerika" documentary. It is really great. It is not on youtube though, so you have to buy it or stream it on one of the pirate sites.
The early Rammstein Videos did'nt have making ofs made during the shoot so for the release of a best of CD Rammstein created these making ofs, with the guys talking out of memory about these early videos. These interviews are probably about 10 years old now. They start to have "real" making of videos with the Mutter album.
If you want to do these in order, the first ever mv they made would be "Du riechst so gut" (the original, not the 98 version) and then "Seemann", "Rammstein", "Engel", "Du Hast"... en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rammstein_discography#Music_videos In order or not, I will look forward to the next one!

Germans are extremely anxious about everything that could be connected to the third reich. And Tills way of singing reminds a bit of the old way of speaking. Nowadays German sounds different, at least to 😩Germans. And Rammstein (almost) never did explain themselves politically. Meanwhile, this has changed.
the old way of speaking german is often wrongly associated with the third reich. But it was also spoken like that before the Nazis and after the Nazis. And rammstein are politically definitely on the left
they never explained themselves politically, they wrote LINKS 2 3 4 and I think that´s beautiful. (Da schlägt es in der linken Brust, der Neider hat es schlecht gewusst).

The people who condemned Rammstein for their music were not Germans in general. It was the so-called upscale society or those who thought they were. Those who dare to speak for the whole of Germany. There were few, but they had the power to spread this nonsense. The normal middle-aged German or below loved this music or at least easily came to terms with it or ignored it. That's the majority. The only stupid thing is that the minority here could be loudest due to their power (media with old people)
