The Peltzman Effect is when a person adjusts their behaviour in response to perceived levels of risk, becoming more careful when they sense more risk and becoming less careful when they feel protected. Basically, when you have a jetpack and a xeno basher and you think your unstoppable but the Spitters still kill you.
but when you have a jetpack, thats also usually the time you get the rifle (and well past the point of the nobelisk, the best weapon in the game)
no reason to use a xeno basher when you can just blow them up. I love the style of combat in the game.
