As a Shao player I think he's probably going to be low mid or low tier. His damage is good, but he has absolutely no good options for lows. Once people realize that almost all of his kit is overheads they'll be blocking all of his kit. Frost seems to alleviate this a bit with her low freeze but good players are going to block that for sure 😅

@@J.vckk. Ya he struggles against zoners for sure. You can take Motaro to help, but then you have nothing for a low other than back 3 which is super slow.
Are his strings hella negative like in MK11?
@@AyeItsYun He's got a couple that are negative but his strings without his axe are actually really fast and good.

cancel dash with blocks. You can wavedash like that. Look up some wavedash tutorial om mk11. Its the same here in mk1
That havic projectile is lol so bad
Which one? If you mean the one where it circles him for a bit, I see potential. It takes a second until it actually flies forward, so I see a potential setup.
Let's say you're doing your string and end in a low. You can special cancel into that projectile and while they're blocking low call an overhead assist like Scorpion.
If they get hit by the overhead you get a full combo. If they block it then they'll still get hit by the projectile and from there you can go into another low, grab them, etc.
Of course, this is speculation since I don't have the game yet. I need to test this to see if this works like I think it will

Yeah that projectile can create some good mix with the proper setup.
His other projectile is also good honestly. Has a lot of screen coverage. But man, Havik is so damn slow

Question for people. Stick or dpad . I been out of the fighting game space for a minute but am going to get into this game. I’ve always used stick but get a lot of miss inputs but play pretty solid still, but those miss inputs have cost me games. But with the dpad well I’m like a horse with no legs shit just doesn’t work. But i would like to know is it worth switching to dpad does it really make that much of a difference cause I been told dpad is always the tried and true way to play fighting game.
I usually default to pad and its worked out so far
I always go for dpad. I can more accurately input movement that way. More direct

It’s hard to switch from stick to dpad but it’s super easy to get used to.

No shade towards the player, but I really liked MK11 Shao Khan. This move set just ain’t it 🤷🏾♂️
He has a safe playstyle now compared to mk11 everything he did was unsafe besides now he has way more combos thanks to his axe and no axe moveset. Plus he looks like a literal demon in the game he's never looked better hes too fun to play with

this was kind of a bad video imo, at least the other video that showcases the #1 rank player is fighting a decent opponent. The geras that he fought was almost pretty close on skill level. This video showcases a shao fighting an npc basically. Yea sure shao is showing off crazy combos... on a player who cant seem to do more than 150-180 at a time to his opponent. At least show the videos where he fights someone on his skill level as well. Could of just named the video "General Shao Combos" instead of making us think hes actually fighting someone on his par and doing crazy combos too.
Why are you acting like this game has been out for awhile? This game is on day 4. Most players are npc's. The video shows people some ideas of what Shao can do, which some people could use.
