I like to imagine that Wo-Chien submitted its stats for the metagame in a fair and timely manner, and was utterly shocked to see what his siblings put down.
I don’t think Wo Chien is that bad, but it’s got a ton of weaknesses, including 4x weakness to bug aka u-turn, making it a subpar wall pokémon even with its ability. So that’s probably why it’s in a lower tier. But that’s coming from someone who has no idea how the meta game works so you can take that with a grain of salt
Im hoping Weavile gets triple axel back when the DLC releases. My boy didn’t need to get gutted like this and if they get triple axel back at least its usable😢
It's not intentional Balancing. They removed everything from every Pokemon coming from home to SV, so they only had their level up moves and TM's. Knock Off and Triple Axel were removed from it not because they cared balancing, but because of a unfortunate decision.
The excessive speed-creeping the last 2 gens had really annoys me. Do Flutter, Pao, and Bundle all need to both be 135+ base speed? It makes most Pokemon above the 100 speed tier way harder to use since they struggle to take a hit from these 3. Like you said, Cinderace should be a good check to Pao, but because it dies to Sucker Punch, it doesn’t work at all.
I know right? Even most other legendaries from gen 7 and below are slow in comparison except for like deoxys. Even mega rayquaza and ultra necrozma are outsped by 135
My pet theory is that chi yu and chien pao are supposed to carry you through the higher level 5 and 6 star raids. Because even using forum posts and building specific pokemon the raids are super random and the Ruin abilities help
They’re a double edged sword in raids cause yeah you and your team do more damage, but everyone that’s not on chien pao or chi yu take more damage as well.
They're actually terrible for raids. You'll get people spamming Ruination not understanding why it doesn't delete half of the raid pokemon's health bar... And also using the wrong one just weakening your team (Chein-Pao in front of a physical attacker, or Chi-Yu in front of a special attacker)
I have never and will never play competitive Pokemon, but your videos are so good that I simply can't stop watching them. You're a bit like Yahtzee, but for individual Pokemon.
Nice video as always But I gotta say, I think chien pao is much more unhealthy compared to flutter mane, chien pao turns physical attackers to beasts and the fact that it doesn't even suffer intimidate that much since the primary user, landorus, has a terrible march up with it. Meanwhile flutter mane is of course a super strong pokemon, but the flexibility in its roles make it a very useful pokemon that can patch any slot on many teams if needed and since we play in an open team sheet meta it's not stupidly unpredictable while clearly having counters, and also since it's such a versitile pokemon it usually invests in various different stats that don't make it excel in anything, while chien pao can afford to go all in, which makes it kinda dumb honestly
Thankfully, there’s Hisuian Arcanine as another common Intimidator, as well as the upcoming Incineroar in the 2nd DLC. That being said, yeah, the fact it can match up so well into Lando currently makes teams pretty constrained when it comes to options to slow it down.
@@TheVengefulVadam yeah I hope that with dlc two the strenght of these teams take a step back. Just incineroar and ferrothorn coming back might seem like a bulkier meta is coming

It's still crazy to me how two mons - at least in a Singles environment - have pretty much the equivalent to Sheer Force, but it applies to every move they use and doesn't remove secondary effects. Also... now that I mention Singles, why doesn't VGC have a Singles division? Online is always split into 3v3 Singles and 4v4 Doubles, so why not have some tournaments in that style? Even if it's "not as strategy reliant," they could at least make some small level tournaments in Singles to bridge the gap between in-game and VGC (else go full Colosseum and make in-game mostly Double battles).
Ik i just met Milkshake in this video just now and barely know them much, but if anything happened to them i would me very upset. Cats are the best lil furiends and Milkshake is such a precious lil one.
Everyone knows the suffering caused by Pao-Nite. This thing is far too strong for how much of a boost it gives to damage for its partners as well as itself even if the boost is universal.
Mamoswine really does have a strange confluence of stats, typing and abilities to help mitigate the classic weaknesses of ice types that allow it to almost always find a niche. It's really impressive. I would argue that for most of its life, Weavile has been perfectly balanced as a fragile speedster that hits hard and fast but dies to a stiff breeze. Indeed Chien-Pao really does feel like Weavile on steroids in every way that matters. IIRC Weavile got a wee bit strong in SnS due to movepool support, but even then most would argue it was simply excellent, not broken. Most of the other "good but not busted" ice types like Froslass and Alolan Ninetails are that way due to their excellent support movepools, allowing them to have niches as leads. I do wish Ice would get some resistances so that defensive ice types like Avalugg could actually exist in some meaningful capacity, but I'm not hopeful. @@webbowser8834 Speaking of mons that could maybe have been good, frostmoth, why did they make it so damn slow? Its defensive typing is, awful, but it has other qualities, why couldn't they just have made it 100 base speed like volcarona, who has a better typing anyway?

Would Chien-Pao be at least close to balanced if Sword of Ruin lowered its own defense as well? This doesn't do much to lower its frightening power when it's switched in after a KO, but it does mean that more things can take it down if anything can survive its first attack.
