Please pin this and read it xx I think everyone deserves to know about Harvey and his story who he was and what happened. Harvey was a Welsh section D, born at my riding centre and trained as a school pony but because he was strong he was only for the experienced and stronger (and taller) riders. Now I have been going to my yard for 5 years and the story starts properly on my first pony camp. On my first camp there was this girl called Oakleigh and she was the girl I wanted to be. She went to the secondary school that I go to now and she also loaned Harvey . For 4/5 of the years I was too scared to touch Harvey which I know sounds really weird but I was too in awe of him just watching him made me happy enough. One day in June (this year) I was meant to be riding Polly but the last person who rode her had to keep getting off because he saddle was slipping too much . So Pip (my riding instructor) put me on him. I was so so Excited and happy and Pip thought I did great and she said to me “you’re doing great on him and you can achieve lots of you ride him more often you are just what each other need . “ So the next week she put me on him again. This is the week where everything just went downhill from then. We were riding ( me in front) and then a Helicopter came over low and all the horses got really spooked . When it was in the near distance, Harvey just stopped. I tried to nudge him on gently and the next thing I know we’re almost galloping. Pip got the others off the other horses but me and my friend Freya were there just going around in a circle. I knew I had to clear my brain and sit deep in the saddle and slowly pull him into a walk as Freya needed to stop too. So we did a couple of walks around the arena and some canters just to calm them down. At the time it was fun but all that week I couldn’t stop thinking about it and worried that he was gonna do that every time of my life that I ride him. Worst. Mistake. Ever. That next week I was on Harvey again but I was trying to hold back the tears . My trot wasn’t in tune with him and our canter was really bumpy and we had to have the slowest horse in the world in front of me when we were doing a 2 cross jump to make sure he didn’t canter. I did canter when we did but it wasn’t my best. That was the worst riding I have ever done in my life. I cried all the way home. Little did I know that that was the last time I would’ve ever ridden him. That next week we were in Chessington and they were doing bareback and that which I wished I was there for so my mum said that I could have a private lesson on Harvey (my request) to get my confidence up with him . It was scheduled for the Friday but in that short amount of time everything went wrong. All that week we had really bad storms. Me and my mum went for bike rides while it was sunny and we went to go get circus tickets for the Thursday. The circus still went on even though it was worst that night with the storms. It’s also that night when it went wrong. On the night of my circus me Ava My mum and Bella all were outside enjoying the rain. There was a Big Bang and my mum explained that it wasn’t thunder it was lightning hitting the ground an hour later , there was a post on my riding group Facebook page saying: “as Lost two horses due to the storm and heaven gained some angels tonight. R.I.P Harvey and Sugar , spice will be put down shortly” (Sugar and spice were best friends and one couldn’t live without the other) My mum didn’t know how to tell me so she just said that the lightning bolt earlier hit Harvey I didn’t have anything to say but tears and she told me I didn’t have to go to the circus but I did because I thought it would be a good distraction (all I could think about was Harvey ) That next day I still had my riding lesson but on Kally and i could tell how sad she was 5 months later he is buried but all his tack still remains in the same place because no one wants to touch it.

Dear esme I know you wouldn’t read this but I have something called ADHD and one of the things that happens is a rush to fast with things but with horseback riding it helps me to learn that I need to slow down and also horseback riding it helps me with mental and I love everything do do with horses I remember finding your channel 2 years ago and I looked at how fun horseback riding looked and I asked my parents to try it and my mom is a vet so she has a love of animals and as soon as I had my first horseback riding and I feel in love and i love helping people with is it and learning about it our just cuddling with them and I just wanted to say thank you for helping me Find something that I love thank you again💜💜💜 (Edit I would love if you could pin this comment or like it)

Dear esme I know you wouldn’t read this but I have something called ADHD and one of the things that happens is a rush to fast with things but with horseback riding it helps me to learn that I need to slow down and also horseback riding it helps me with mental and I love everything do do with horses I remember finding your channel 2 years ago and I looked at how fun horseback riding looked and I asked my parents to try it and my mom is a vet so she has a love of animals and as soon as I had my first horseback riding and I feel in love and i love helping people with is
