Yes this is spot on. No need to repeat this great analogy and explanation. Ultrasound is also favoured as it is less time consuming than normal solvent distillation methods. It is also not susceptible to heat which can affect the yield of some volatile components. I read a study where they compared the chemical components of mint using normal distillation and ultrasound (US), and the quality in the final product was very different. The method is not without its faults though. Ostens also mention the extraction method in their note breakdowns. Interesting that brands are moving in this direction. Almost like they are appealing to a "connisuer" audience. In reality it is mostly well trained perfumers that can really detect such differences. Jean Claude Ellena in one of his books mentions how in his training he could tell the difference in the geographical origin and extraction method of the material. I can't, yet 😂🥴.

I rang les senteurs and they said it's a brexit related issue. I contacted them by email when I wanted to order the Vanille Havane and Rose de Jamal, I think you may have to import via them

Yeah brexit has been an unparalleled "success" so far, hasn't it. It's been hell for perfume fans in this country, considering almost all the world's perfume comes from Europe 🤦🏻♂️ If you get in touch with them, I'm sure they'll help you out
Ambre Supreme certainly wasn't what I was expecting. It's a rough leather/amber like an amped-up Knize Ten, but borderline unpleasant. Also reminds me of the shoe polish note in Cuir Cavallier. I respect this brand, maybe it will grow on me. I think I prefer the perfumery fantasy of ambre over the real thing.

Rich a new perfume shop has just opened where I live in Melbourne - it stocks indemodables and a bunch of other niche stuff - I was like u in Le Parfumier when I walked in as it’s so hard to get access to stuff down here.. I got a bottle of musc de sables and a sample pack. Even smelt oud infini - that stuff makes leather oud smell like imperial cologne!
@@RichMitch they’ve got about 40 niche brands including rarer stuff like mdci and Rania jay, lots of Nicholai, no vintage though. I think cuir de chine and rose de Jamal are my picks they havnt got the amber 1 yet which I’m interested in

You can contact the brand and ask them, they are really good at replying quickly and they seem reasonable to talk with. Otherwise, I bought their sample pack and it is really good... ask them to include the escale colognes and the ambre supreme
I love aldehydes. Very powerful though. Hard to use. I will hazard a guess that it has aldehyde C12 MNA (and probably some others). It is a soapy, floral, citrusey Aldehyde with ambergris like nuances. Stuff lasts and lasts. Will outlast any citrus notes and some florals. Very powerful, put in on a strip in your room, and it will overpower everything. You can detect it in the mid-drydown of some perfumes. It smells like soap, something herbal like coriander, and slightly chlorinated pool water neat. Aldehyde C10 just smells like coriander neat in all honesty. But in small doses aldehydes can add pop to citrus, florals and incense notes. When you say blue I think Dihydromercenal 😱😭. Has got the cool water blue smell? Or more Sauvage blue?
It's not Dihydromercenal blue, it's ambrox blue but much, much more real and satisfying. This is "marine" done right, its what all the other blue fragrances are trying to achieve but without the shortcuts. I'm almost certainly getting a bottle of this

Just ordered a sample of this, kind of scared because I love ambergris but immortel is one of my least favorite notes. Hopefuly its not an overdose.
It is blended brilliantly. I wouldn't worry too much, I don't like florals and I think it's awesome. Ambergris is definitely the main player
