We are leaving tomorrow, we did kuirau park, huka falls, wairakei terraces, hells gate mud spa, wai o tapu park, waikite valley hot pools, velocity valley, whakarewarewa redwoods, govt gardens, sulfur point, and skyline luge and gondola. So many activities, so little time and money.

Love your videos. They've been super helpful in planning our NZ trip in Feb, 2024. Anyway, we'll be in Rotorua for 2 days (Sunday the 18th and Monday the 19th) and then off to Napier on the 20th. As Y2J said, "so many activities, so little time and money", so looking for advice. Kuirau Park, Redwoods, and Te Puia (maybe) seem like no-brainers, as they're close to town and reasonably priced. Are Waimangu, Waikite, and Waiotapu all "must see" attractions? If so, could one do them all in a 9 hour-ish day? If not, how would you stack rank them (sorry, the nerdy product manager in me coming out). Would one be better off stopping at one of the three "W" attractions on the way to Napier assuming stops in Huka Falls and perhaps Wairakei along the way? Thanks again!

I'm glad to hear you've found the videos helpful, and it sounds like you're planning an exciting trip to New Zealand! Regarding your questions about Rotorua and the nearby attractions. But first, our latest live show was about Rotorua, it's worth a watch!
      1. Kuirau Park, Redwoods, and Te Puia: These are indeed excellent choices, and they offer a diverse range of experiences. Kuirau Park showcases geothermal activity right in the heart of the town, the Redwoods provide stunning forest walks, and Te Puia offers a chance to see geysers and Maori cultural experiences.
      2. Waimangu, Waikite, and Waiotapu: All three of these attractions are remarkable, showcasing geothermal wonders. However, doing all of them in a single day might be a bit ambitious, especially if you want to fully appreciate each site. If you had to choose, Waiotapu is often considered a must-see for its colorful Champagne Pool and Lady Knox Geyser.
      - Waimangu Volcanic Valley: It's the youngest geothermal system and offers unique features. If you have the time, it's worth exploring.
      - Waikite Valley Thermal Pools: This could be a more relaxing experience with its hot pools, providing a nice contrast to the active geothermal areas.
      - Waiotapu Thermal Wonderland: Known for its vibrant and colorful geothermal features, it's one of the most popular attractions.
      3. Timing and Alternatives: Given your limited time, you might consider doing one of the "W" attractions on your way to Napier. If I had to suggest one, Waiotapu would be a strong contender. You could then stop at Huka Falls and Wairakei as planned, providing a good balance of geothermal wonders and natural beauty.
Remember to check the opening hours of each attraction and plan accordingly. Also, be sure to consider travel times between locations. It's always a good idea to check for any road closures or construction that might affect your itinerary. Enjoy your trip and remember to check NZPocketGuide.com for more info, we got you covered there!

@@NZPocketGuide- Ah, timing is everything! We watched your latest live show (albeit the recorded version on TH-cam) during our Sunday evening (US Eastern Time), but had already posted questions here earlier in the day. That said. when I saw the topic, my first thought was, "they selected this topic in direct response to my questions!" (obviously not, but it sure felt that way 😀). Anyway, thanks for the response. We'll prioritize as you suggested (Waiotapu, then Waimangu, then Waikite). Can't wait until we arrive in NZ in February!
