Live performances: "En livstid i krig" (live from Gothenburg, 2020. About a soldier called for duty in the 30 years war 1618-1648. Also check out the animated story videos for"No bullets fly", "Lady of the Dark", "Night Witches" and "Red Baron".
I agree with other suggestions, Sabaton is truly an incredible rabbit hole, but there is also one more rabbit hole there - Sabaton's guitarist Tommy Johansson. He is also an incredible singer, though not singing in Sabaton because he has a very different voice than Joakim. He has his own band Majestica and also his solo channel where he does incredible covers. I suggest his covers She's Gone and Phantom of the Opera and Majestica song Above The Sky. Tommy is something like male Floor, his voice and musical skills are mind blowing
Yes, this really happened. On Christmas Eve in many places on the Western Front in World War I, the fighting stopped. Soldiers started singing Christmas carols. Eventually, Soldiers front both sides called across No-mans land to ask for a truce. Soldiers came out of the trenches on Christmas day and soldiers exchanged gifts and food, they even had a soccer match. Sabaton worked hard to depict this great event in history. Sabaton sings about historical events, mostly about what happened in wars. most of their videos are very high-quality, so welcome to the Sabaton army! I look forward to seeing more reactions from you.
Dang never heard of this band but definitely going to check them out now. Really awesome video. Love these reaction videos because I’m getting introduced to some new stuff and the guys at seton hill are just entertaining. Loving this channel keep it up guys!
Appreciate that! Shoot, you and me both…most of these bands I wouldn’t have ever known about if it wasn’t for people suggesting them. So much music out there! 😎
I would suggest some of their videos to watch, practically all of their songs are good, but check out the music video Bismark, they have also done animated videos so I'm going to suggest the animated videos The Red Baron, No Bullets Fly, Lady of the Dark, Night Witches. Those should contain some history lessons you may never have heard of and wonder how u never did.
Boy, you're in for a treat! It is a rabbit hole of great songs and videos coming from them, and they will either make you cry or want go to battle yourself. A lot of their songs are great for working out too if you're into that.
Oh, I am truly jealous, you have so much fantastic music to discover with Sabaton. You will not be disappointed. Start with 'En livstid i krig' live from the Great Tour in Gothenburg, its in Swedish but use the subs. Its a good way to get to learn how they are live. And dont forget to check out their official Sabaton History Channel, they have one episode about every song.
As an American, ck out Sabaton's "USA" WW1 songs: "The Lost Battalion" "Devil Dogs" "82nd All the Way" & "Hellfighters." Sabaton has paid a TON of respect to the USA's contribution to WW1. Of course, Sabaton also has great WW2 songs.
Thank you. "The Lost Battalion" is a banger. The story of a battalion of the American 77th infantry division, (the liberty division) constituted in New York City. 550 men walked into the Arden forest...
Sabaton is a Swedish power metal band from Falun, which was formed in 1999. The band's songs are inspired by various historical wars. Even the band name is military inspired, as Sabaton is also the name of the part of the armor that covers the foot. All the music that Sabaton makes is based on real war stories through the centuries, to help them they have 3 historians who seek out interesting war events. Even Sabaton from all over the world send interesting war events from their country and the historians look for facts about the events to confirm the story. Now in 2024, Sabaton has been doing this for 25 years, singing about war events. So as this song Jul True, has happened. and if you want to learn the history when this happened as well as the history behind several of Samabon's songs, Sabaton has a channel on TH-cam called Sabaton History.
As a retired combat veteran I *LOVE* Sabaton's music. They tell the TRUE stories from war, and they don't "take sides" - they tell true tales of heroism, mercy, and valor. If I may request - my fav is "No Bullets Fly" (the 8min 50second animated story video) - it tells the true story of a WWII German fighter pilot who saw a severely damaged B-17 (American 4-engined bomber) and flew in to finish it off. But when he got closer he could see it was shot to pieces and that the wounded crew was tending to the OTHER wounded crew. He could not shoot it down - so, instead he ESCORTED IT out of Germany to safety. Then, 40 years later the two pilots met and became very close friends.
Welcome! Hope you had a lovely Christmas, and I hope you have a wonderful New Year! This is one of Sabaton's most beautiful videos, but by no means the only tear-jerker. I highly recommend any of their Animated Story Videos, as they offer context before and after the song and are amazingly animated by a group called Yarn Hub. As mentioned I'm sure, Sabaton tells war stories. They do not take 'sides' per se, but tell the stories of the people who fought, often focusing on moments of humanity rising OVER violence, like the Christmas Truce of 1914. All the best, from the middle of Canada.
Great reaction, more Sabaton please😊 Soldier of heaven, Bismarck, unkillable Soldier, En livstid i krig(live from gothenburg), To hell and back, are songs you should react to.😊
don't forget the subtitles for "En livstid I krig" as it is in Swedish and might be difficult to understand otherwise (you WILL get the insane feelings involved without though)
The great thing with Sabaton along with their "Sabaton History Channel" is they have Official music videos / Live / lyric / animated story then unofficial fan made videos so you have plenty to choose from. there cover of Motorheads "1916" is a must watch. for a great live video - "Swedish Pagans - Live at Wacken Open Air 2019"

Sabaton tells history about those have fallen, but are not forgotten. Some of their songs, like this one are bitter-sweet, others are heart breaking. Songs like En Livstid i Krig, 1916, the Price of a Mile, Inmate 4859, and To Hell and Back look at not the glory, but the pain of conflict, while others like Night Witches, The Lady of the Dark, No Bullets Fly, The Defense of Moscow, 40:1, The First Soldier, and The Unkillable Soldier honor those heroes who rose to the call and changed history.
Bismarck the original video, No Bullets Fly the animated story video, Night Witches the animated story video and Swedish Pagans live at Wacken 2019. I love Sabaton.
I guess a really good recommendation is a quite recent release of 1916. Sabaton doesn't known for covers but this is one exception. Originally written by Lemmy Kilmister fromMotörhead. Very cinematic as well. Sabaton is music is always about war history, persons that had effect on war or heroic actions during war. By that said, they do not glorify war, just tells the stories and tells the raw facts and horrific effects. Be aware, always look at the whole video and don't skip the end credits. Do watch to the end, there's a bit at the end of NBF that makes me cry!
Whew... Okay, Sabaton, you could have a channel on this band alone. All about war history. They have amazing stories told through song. Recommend reading up on the story before reacting to one of their songs.
Race to the Sea is a great song. Resist and Bite. The Price of a Mile. As for extra treats, check out Hellfest 2019, when Sabaton replaced another popular group, then Joakim lost his voice, and Tommy and Chris not only played guitars, but also sang the songs, kept on track by the drummer Hannes and bass player/manager Pär Sundström. It's an incredible show.
Great reaction! 👊 After this, you should check out the Sabaton history channel to find out more. It's really interesting with the great Indy talking about the whole story behind it!.. It is a must. If not you missing something 🤘🫡

if you want an awesome live song with Sabaton you should react to en livstid i krig (a lifetime of war) live Scandinavium Gothenburg. The albums Caroulus Rex they had released during that time is about a part of Swedish history referred to as the era of great power (stormaktstiden in Swedish) from when Sweden was a much bigger nation with ambitions of expanding. Noooo.... Another reactor that DIDN't LISTEN the FULL SONG!!. Never do this again: Listen the songs until the end. It's disrespectful to compositor not do it. (and very important with Sabaton songs.. most of them have a message or so before end. ) The reaction.. good one. I like it when they pause and comment, adding their knowledge to their comments about how they feel about the song they hear. See you in next reaction (From Sabaton, Nightwish, Lovebites, Nemophila.. or any other band i like. )

😂Yeah they’ve been going in! 😄 It’s all good though! I get that people are passionate! 🤘🏻
Just keep em coming, subtitles recommend if you wanna go from a non history buff to a pretty decent one in war history 😊.Big catalog, pretty much all the videos are amazing......Lest we forget..
Thank ya!! 😎
Cutting off Floor is sacrilege but other than that nice rx, liked the musical breakdown
🤣😂🤣 I know. I know. I’ve already been roasted! 😆 Thanks for watching! 🤘🏻
@@setonhillstudios almost everyone cuts off Sabaton early on first vid, don't feel isolated.
They are almost as deep a rabbithole as Pink Floyd, Ren, and Nightwish, which new rxERS don't anticipate.
No worries, not hating, just noting....
@@dmj4966 No worries! I appreciate all the feedback! Thanks for checking out the channel! 🙏🏻
Noooo....
Another reactor that DIDN't LISTEN the FULL SONG!!.
Never do this again:
Listen the songs until the end. It's disrespectful to compositor not do it.
(and very important with Sabaton songs.. most of them have a message or so before end. )
The reaction.. good one. I like it when they pause and comment, adding their knowledge to their comments about how they feel about the song they hear.
See you in next reaction (From Sabaton, Nightwish, Lovebites, Nemophila.. or any other band i like. )
Haha…I understand but I didn’t think anyone wanted to watch the credits. Well at least you know I don’t pre watch these. 🤣 I thoroughly enjoyed everything about it! Thanks for swinging by and next time I won’t pull the epic fail! 🤦🏻♂️
